It is said the head is the important part where there is high amounts of energy release...esp. the top most area and back part...energy centres...also with most of the sensitive parts...
It should be covered with a turban, crown or atleast hair plaited to the top coz hair has a protective role(men) see when hair is removed during thread ceremonyetc. they don't remove it completely some is left behind I guess...
and a veil for women...😳
Unfortunately most of us don't follow it these days but it has a great significance...😊

Yes, correct. The head is a very important part of our body. Many people think women wearing a veil is regressive, but actually the main intention behind such a practice is because their energy is stored in their head. Also, it's said that a man forms lust for a woman first by looking at her hair, so a veil protects women from falling prey to men besides their husband. That's why it's a very important practice for women to wear veils, but today's modernization has made people conclude all sorts of things by this practice.🤔

Yah...moreover covering hair is a hygienic way...generally women prepare food hence its required that way also...
Falling hair shouldn't get caught up anywhere...applies for both men and women!!!😳

Yes, that's also true. If strands of hair are found on the floor, it's considered very inauspicious to step on them. My mom always yells at us whenever she sees hair on the floor of our room.😆

Read this...from ssbpt.org

Sita wore a yellow colour Sari for coronation. She spent all fourteen years in the forest wearing the same Sari. The same with Urmila. She wore the same Sari till Lakshmana returned. Being the daughters of King Janaka, they had no body attachment. That is why they were known as Vaidehis (those without body attachment). King Janaka was known as Videha, one without body attachment.

i just read kishkindhakanda of ramcharitmanas and ramayana...

in ramayana its mentioned tht sugreev showed ramji sitaji's jewellery tht was tied in upper part or upper cloth of the saree ram became impatient and showed it to lakshman where he could only recognize the anklet and toe ring

in ramcharitmanas it is mentioned tht sugreev showed only the upper garments of sitaji the jewels arent mentioned here infact there is no sarga which mentioned tht ansuya gifted jewellery to sitaji she only gave sermons on patidharama... does tht means sitaji didnt wore jewellery as per tulsidas ramcharitmanas as sitaji left her jewellery in ayodhya palace and wore rudraksh maala???? ..one more thing tulsidas has used the word "pat" for the upper part of sari "pat" in awadhi means veil... the cloth use to cover the forhead and head of the woman...😳

There are some verses in Valmiki Ramayan that state Mata Sita wearing SILK in Vanvas, some verses are given below:

At many places in Valmiki Ramayana, silk is mentioned as 'Kausheya'.

Sita wore Kausheyam.

Here are a few verses on kausheyam, from Valmiki Ramayana.

Sita was sighted by Ravana as wearing a silk attire.

(from Aranya khanda)

sa taam padma palaasha akSiim piita kausheya vaasiniim |
abhyagacChata vaidehiim hR^iSTa cetaa nishaa caraH || 3-46-13

Here, 'piita kausheya vaasiniim' means "ochry, silks, wearing".

Sita was wearing Kausheya at the time of abduction.

"tapta aabharaNa varNa angii piita kausheya vaasanii |
raraaja raaja putrii tu vidyut saudaamanii yathaa ||" ( 3-52-14)

piita kausheya vaasanii= ocherish, in silks, dressed;

(meaning :-.That princess Sita scintillated like the oblique flashes of lightning in a cloud, owing to her golden coloured body which is muffled up with jewellery of pure gold, and added with a golden coloured ocherish silky dress, while traversing in the sky.)

In Kishkindha khandam,

Sampathi describes to the vanaras the abduction of Sita.

He mentions that Sita was wearing superior kausheyam.

"suurya prabhaa iva shaila agre tasyaaH kausheyam uttamam |
asite raakSase bhaati yathaa vaa taDit a.mbude ||" ( 4-58-17)

tasyaaH uttamam kausheyam= her, best, ochry silk sari;

(meaning :- Upper fringe of Sita's silk attire with golden glitter is upheaved in the sky, and with the reddish hue of sun in red heat of midday it beamed forth like a reddish cloud. )

Sita dropped the jewels wrapped in her upper garment of kasuheyam while she was being abducted.

"teSaam madhye vishaalaakSii kausheyam kanaka prabham |
uttariiyam varaarohaa shubhaani aabharaNaani ca || 3-54-2
mumoca yadi raamaaya sha.mseyuH iti bhaaminii |"

(meaning :- 2, 3a. vishaalaakSii= broad-eyed one; varaarohaa= curvaceous lady; bhaaminii= lady with resentment; kanaka prabham kausheyam uttariiyam= golden, in hue, silk sari, upper cloth; shubhaani aabharaNaani ca= auspicious, ornaments, also; raamaaya= to Rama; shamseyuH yadi= they indicate, if [they may]; iti= thus [on thinking]; teSaam madhye mumoca= their, amid, released - dropped.

That broad-eyed and curvaceous lady with resentment Sita, inwrapping her auspicious ornaments in the upper-fringe of her sari, dropped in the midmost of those five Vanara-s with a thinking that 'these creatures may perhaps indicate them to Rama.' [3-54-2, 3a])

I got this from yahoo.answers. It seems that as per Valmiki Ramayan, Sita wore jewels and silks during vanvaas.

Hinduism - Ramayanam - How did Sita got Jewels in the Forest?

As per Kaikeyi ordered Rama went to forest like Sanyasi. And Sita accompanied her with same dress code of Rama. Hence she didn't were Jewels. When Sita was kidnapped by Ravana. She dropped her jewels on the way to lanka. Sugriva Sena founds it and give it to Rama when he was searching Sita. From Where did Jewels Came is the real Question.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Maa Sita got Jewels from anusuya in the Forest at the Hermitage of Sage Atri.

Rama, after due reflection, decides to leave Chitrakuta mountain because of many handicaps. Setting out his journey from Chitrakuta mountain, he reaches the hermitage of Sage Atri and offers his salutation to him. Introducing his wife Anansuya as a great female ascetic to Rama, Atri urges Rama to send his concert Seetha to Anasuya. Anasuya receives Seetha, who greeted her and gives her instructions on the role and responsibilities of a devoted wife.

raaja putri shrutam tu etan muner asya samiiritam |
shreyo artham aatmanaH shiighram abhigagcCa tapasviniim || 2-117-15

15. raaja putri= O, princess!; shrutam= you have heard; idam samiiritam= these words; asya muneH= of this sage; aatmanaH= for your own; shreyaH artham= good; shiighram= quickly; abhigachchha= approach; tapasviniim= the saintly Anasuya.

"O, princess! You have heard what the sage has said. For your own good, approach the saintly Anasuya without delay."

Seetha agrees to the instructions given by Anasuya on the duties of a devoted wife. At the end of the conversation with Seetha, Anasuya requests her to ask for a boon, and highly pleased with her, Anasuya bestows heavenly flowers and ORNAMENTS on her. Anasuya then requests Seetha to relate to her the story of her marriage with Rama. Then Seetha relates that story to Anasuya in detail.

Hearing those words of Anasuya, Seetha was surprised and with a gentle smile spoke to her, who was richly endowed with the power of askesis, saying; "Everything stands fulfilled (by your grace).

'' Seetha accepted the apparel, the scented cosmetic, the jewels and the garlands as unsurpassed gifts of love.''

@Edited: I am glad to find answer from the respected sir srividya rajagopalan. very excellent. Sir has covered everything. The asker did not come with a question ''where did sita got jewels'' and the questioner said categorically ''she did not wear Jewels''. The questioner further said about Dress Code. Therefore, the questioner floated the question to know the details ''how sita got Jewels in the Forest'' He wanted to know about the jewels got in the forest alone. Based and on understanding the question on the same line, i gave answer. The questioner did not come ''How did Sita got Jewels'', but he came with this question ''How did Sita got Jewels in the FOREST''. Hence my answer was 'how did sita got jewels in the Forest'. I can fully agree the answer of respected Srividya rajagopalan sir answer if the question was ''How did sita got Jewels''. It is the responsibility of the asker to explain in what sense he floated the question.
