Thank you for sharing this. It's all I wanted to know, because the title is misleading by saying "Shri Ramcharitmanas Adhaarit Ramayan". I have no issues if other sources are used because I think all the stories are so interesting, but I was annoyed when the show claimed it was based purely off of Ramcharitmanas when it was not.
Now I will be able to watch all the different stories happily.😊

thanks neilu...yes the show always claimed tht it is majorily inspired by ramcharitmanas but it also said it would include the other versions even the folklore...actually i never liked the anokha adhayas they showed us as i thought they have made their own stories which irritated me to no end but i was wrong... they have included the stories from the conventional source for example the apsara dance which majorily pissed off lots of members including me... actually this context is taken from kritttivasi ramayana written by krittibas ojha (bengali version) it is said this ramayana is written after valmiki's one means older than tulsidas ramcharitmanas
in this ramayana its clearly mentioned tht lord rama's wedding was about to take place in the auspicios mahurat bt god became fearful because they thought if wedding took place in the right place the separation of lord rama and sitaji will be impossible so they asked chandradev (moongod to help them chandra dev descend down and took the form of apsara and danced in the wedding he was looking so beautiful tht everybody forgot the wedding mahurat and it passed by and accordingingly gods plan became sucessful...

take my words back ...thanks alot zee tv ramayana for sharing these stories ...by including the stories from these versions u are actually paying reverence to these holy epic as well hats off guyz ... thanks a lot once again and sorry...😳

^^ I still do not quite like the apsara dance scene. I accept that it may not be fictional like we thought, but the scene itself makes me wince because it portrays such great sages like Vasishta and Vishvamitra as lustful, and even the Raghuvanshis are portrayed as base humans who easily fall to an apsara's dance.
There are sooo many different stories out there shows could incorporate, but not all stories maintain the dignity of the Godly characters, so shows should be careful in picking what they show.
For example, Ananda Ramayana writes in its Uttar Kand that Ram asked Lakshman to kill Sita and bring him her ear as proof.🤢 I would hate it if any show showed this story because it portrays Ram as a sadistic and harsh King who cared so less about his wife.
I wish Zee Tv Ramayana showed a nice, romantic wedding instead of incorporating this apsara dance. It may not be a fictional story like we thought, but for me it deviated from the divinity of the epic and portrayed the Raghuvanshis and sages as typical base humans who forgot their saintly behavior by feeling overcome by the beauty of the apsara. Vishvamitra and Vasishta in particular were Brahmarshis. They would never fall for the apsara's trap so this story does not hold much water for me.

Since this Ramayana is apparently incorporating no fiction, I am curious to know which source has Kaikeyi and Sita's saas-bahu drama after the wedding. That scene so far was the worst for me and I can accept everything else this show has shown if I learn that some source has written Kaikeyi as a 21st century Indian television saas.

I would also like to know which source wrote Mandavi as a jealous woman upon hearing of Ram's Rajyabhishek. These two scenes are ones I can never accept. The other bloopers in this show are ignorable compared to them.

Yes exactly, that's also how I feel. The actors are doing a good job and I can the crew is working hard to make the background music and sets as authentic as possible, but the storyline is still flawed. I like how you said it's based on fables and inspired by Ramcharitmanas, instead of being the other way around. The main storyline is based heavily on fables whereas Ramcharitmanas is only seen in very few momenths.
For example, the episodes where Ram found out about Kaikeyi's vows and took vanvaas seemed a bit rushed to me. They did not follow Ramcharitmanas or Valmiki Ramayana's chronology at all. It was a bit weird seeing Ram and Sita about to ascend the throne before Manthara stopped them, and Dashrath was never supposed to have a heart attack. He lost his senses but was very much conscious when Ram made his decision to go on vanvaas. Also, all the members of the family being in Kaikeyi's chamber at oncewas also weird, as Saint Tulsidas writes many beautiful lines about how Ram went to Kaushalya's chamber to break the news to her.
I was also disappointed that they did not show Devi Arundhati's meeting with Sita, telling her not to remove her jewels because they are considered auspicious for a married woman. This scene was very important because it's written in the epic (Valmiki and Tulsidas) that Sita left the palace of Ayodhya with jewels on, as it was inauspicious to remove all of them. The only time she removed them was when she was kidnapped by Ravan and threw her jewels to Rishyamukh parvat. Sita was a pativrata stree, and patrivrata women never removed their jewels. I was shocked to see Sita in Zee Tv's Ramayana withou any jewels and without her veil on.🤔
I think the show has potential and has a good star cast, but the storyline is still heavily flawed and inconsistent. When incorporating stories from different sources, the Sagars should be careful not to disrupt the flow of the story.
