Aamir Khan Productions has introduced its next project, a new chapter for Vir Das. The banner has announced a film titled Happy Patel, directed by Vir himself, along with a promo that has grabbed attention online. The comedy also brings back Imran Khan in front of the camera, adding to the curiosity around the film.
On Instagram, Aamir Khan Productions and Vir Das shared the announcement video, framed like a confrontation. Aamir is seen sternly questioning Vir’s creative choices. He asks, “You think getting beaten up is action? Your idea of romance is getting slapped by the girl? I requested one item number, you have done it yourself!" Through the clip, Aamir keeps pulling up Vir. At one point, he bluntly declares, “This film will be a flop," which leads Vir to mention Laal Singh Chaddha, only irritating Aamir further.
The tone then shifts as brief visuals from Happy Patel appear, including a short glimpse of Aamir and Imran Khan together, giving fans a mini Delhi Belly reunion. While the promo has set the mood, the team has not revealed the release date yet.

In a recent conversation on Game Changers with Komal Nahta, he said internal work on the project has begun and scriptwriting should start in the coming months. For Aamir, the epic is not just a film but a personal and spiritual journey, which he has earlier described as a kind of “yagna”.
Vir Das, meanwhile, is juggling stand up, acting and now direction. After watching Zach Cregger’s horror film Weapons, he wrote on X, “Saw weapons last night. Reaffirmed my desire to direct a proper horror next." He also praised how the horror space is experimenting, saying, “This might be the genre innovating more than any other in film today."
Recently, he appeared in the Prime Video series Call Me Bae, led by Ananya Panday, and fronted the Netflix stand up special Vir Das: Fool Volume. He is also readying his book The Outsider: A Memoir for Misfits, which is expected to reach Indian readers later this year.
