@manzilmukul,
Again, I sincerely apologize if my word 'absurd' offended you. It was not meant in particular to any version, but I'm not the sort of person who can accept anything in the name of Ram, Sita, and Lakshman. I do know about Krittivasi Ramayana and respect it, but like with stories from all versions (even Valmiki and RCM), I find some stories a bit debatable. The apsara dance is one of them, but as a whole version I respect Krittivasi Ramayana a lot.
I do know that there are some people who worship Ravan and think he was greater than Ram, but to be honest I'd be horrified if a show showed them. For me, Valmiki Ramayana is the PRIME source for the epic because it's not central to any region. Valmiki was a great sage and wrote down the whole story through divya drishti granted by Lord Brahma. What we wrote cannot be false, so when I hear stories of Ram asking Sita to be killed, or Ravan being worshipped over Ram, I cannot accept them at all because they demean the greatness of the Gods. I know you don't agree with this since people view God in a different light, but God is God and I can never accept Ravan being worshipped over Ram. It's also disrespecting such scriptures as Vishnu Purana or Devi Bhagawatham which are written in sanskrit and not particular to any region.
In fact, I hold Valmiki Ramayana in higher esteem even more than RCM, and I know all of India believes in Valmiki Ramayana despite having versions of their own. RCM is central to North India, correct, just as Ranganath Ramayana is central to Andhra Pradesh, Krittivasi Ramayana central to Bengal, etc, but Valmiki Ramayan is the prime source for everyone so I would like a mythological show based on the Ramayana to follow that primarily. This is the only way in which viewers all over India can relate to the storyline, since every version shares at least some similarity with Valmiki Ramayan.
Also, since Zee TV's Ramayana is a hindi show, it's not unfair to expect them to follow RCM mainly, since that's the version central to North India. I also like the fact that they're incorporating other versions, but sometimes I feel like they're concentrating too much on them. For example, a whole episode was wasted on the post-Sita swayamvar scene where Banasur came in disguise of Sita. That story could have been shown in 10-15 minutes, don't you agree? The CVs need to learn how to handle these stories because the main plotline of Ramayan should be in accordance to RCM or Valmiki Ramayana.

@Arti...thanks for sharing ..my knowledge is going up several notches with those lovely details of yours..Love you for that.
@Neilu loved your query and details about the mangalsutra discussion.
@Janaki,Krishu ,Neilu and Arti , Even in BENGALI wedding ceremony we do not have mangalsutra at all.In fact the main rituals include Saat paak,mala bodol and as a symbol of matrimony we have sindoor daan and ghomta...
Sindoor is the main symbol.The groom applies the sindoor and after that the head of the bride is covered with a veil given by the ELDER BROTHER IN LAW of the family .The veil is called the LAJJA VASTRA.Never is magal sutra mentioned in any of the rituals ...he he mujhe apni shaadi yaar aying😳

@everyone,
I guess it's been decided by us that showing mangalsutra is not necessary (it's fine if they show it, it's also fine if they don't show it) in Ramayan, but showing at least minimal jewelry for Sita Ma is necessary and I hope the next episode, in which Ram, Sita, and Lakshman meet Guha and don the hair of vanvaasis, show a change in Sita Ma's attire. She needs to wear a veil and also some abhushans.
It'll be a bit strange seeing her with jewelry when she left Ayodhya without them, but we can conclude that perhaps Guha's wife gave her some to borrow.😆

actually janaki in ramcharitmanas it is mentioned tht kakeyi made ram lakshman and sitaji wear hemits clothes and jewellery sitamaa had to leave her royal jewellery in the palace and she wore rudraksh here is the sarga

seeya sakuch bas uttare na deyi , soo suni tamaki uthi kakeyi , munni pat bhushan bhaajan aani aagi dheere boli mrudu baani ..."

tht means sita was quite and didnt answered she was way too embarassed hearing all these conversations kakeyi grew angry she gave hermit clothes jewellery and vessels to lord rama and said...wear it and go to forest hernceforth...clearly tuslidas has mentioned the hermit jewellery ie. bhushan means jewelllery which is rudraksh maala hence ram lakshman and sitaji wore hermit clothes and jewellery...

then in chitrakoot wen sati ansuya looked at the royal princess in hermit jewellery she became restless and gave those jewellery to sitaji which sitaji dropped during her abduction...

there is full chapter in valmiki ramayana where dashratha asked to keep royal jewlleries for sitaji and then these jewelleries were dropped by her

since this one follow ramcharitmanas they made sitaji depart wearing the hermit jewellery...

and i remembered tht bichiya was mentioned in ramayana as lakshman could only recognize toe ring there so tht gives strong evidence tht sitaji wore bichiya toe ring as her mangal abhushan 😳

^^ Okay, that makes sense. I guess previous Ramayans followed the Valmiki Ramayana version which says Sita Ma wore royal jewelry. At the least then Sitaji should wear a veil.

Yes it would be nice if she puts on a veil...actually the tradition of covering the head is very important not only for women but also men...
It is said the head is the important part where there is high amounts of energy release...esp. the top most area and back part...energy centres...also with most of the sensitive parts...
It should be covered with a turban,crown or atleast hair plaited to the top coz hair has a protective role(men) see when hair is removed during thread ceremonyetc. they don't remove it completely some is left behind I guess...
and a veil for women...😳
Unfortunately most of us don't follow it these days but it has a great significance...😊

Yes, at the least a veil should be shown. If they're following RCM then Sita left the palace with abhushan and later got them from Devi Anasuya, that's fine, but a veil is absolutely mandatory.
In South Indian movies, Sita is never shown with a veil but I think this is a custom that is prevalent in North India, right? Actually, I heard that in the olden days even South Indians wore a veil, because it's said that for a woman to expose her hair to men besides her husband was unethical, so not wearing a veil is a recent transition.
It was also a blooper seeing Ram and Sita wear tree bark without them being offered by Kaikeyi. Actually, both in Valmiki and RCM, they wore tree bark only because Kaikeyi made them, otherwise there was no need for them to remove royal clothing or jewelry during vanvaas.😕
