"Ewafans!" Mehtab jumped up and down as he started to run, tugging on Zoya's hand.
"Yes, Baby. Those are elephants, but I don't know if you can go on that," she tried to explain to her son and looked to her husband for backup.
"Mahek, wait, Princess," Asad tried to get her to stop, but she was too excited and continued to tug on her mom as she stumbled forward.
"Whose bright idea was this?" Zoya grumbled as she looked around and heard her mother-in-law chuckle.
"Ayaan's," Asad grumbled as he pushed Mehtab into Zoya's side and reached to pick Mahek up in his arms so they'd have better control of her.
"Well, were the heck is he?" Zoya sighed as she pulled her hat lower and quickly reached to grab her son's hand before he got away from them.
"Romancing away with his wife." Dilshad replied replied to her and laughed as she saw Asad fight with the overly rambunctious toddler in his grip, bucking to break free.
Asad grumbled and muttered, "Idiot. Wait till he has kids!"
"So why are we here?" She tried again.
"You pwomised," Mehtab looked up at her and gave her his best toothless grin.
"Oh, right," she laughed and pulled him closer to her so she could wrap her arm around his shoulders.
"Ewafans," Mehtab who bounced in his mom's arms and flailed his hands in the air. "Day fwyin' momma!"
"I see, Baby, I see!" Zoya acknowledged her little boy to try and calm him.
"I wanna fwy!" Mehtab exclaimed and clapped her hands as he pumped his legs and wiggled harder to get free.
"Please let this be one he can get on," Asad laughed.
"It is," Zoya whispered.
"Thank you, universe," Asad laughed and started to bounce his son to rile him up even more. "You get to fly like the ewafans!" He cheered and used his little boy's lingo, making Mehtab shake his head and hide his giggle.
"Do I hafta do this one?" Mahek asked, looking to her mom, squinting her eyes against the sun. "It's for babies. I wanna do something else," she said
"Can we do this one first and then we'll go find something you want to do?" Zoya tried to cut a deal with her eldest.
Cringing, Mahek shrugged and looked at the flying elephants in front of them. "I guess," she tried to sound nonchalant, but Zoya could feel that she didn't really want to do this
"I know, such a huge sacrifice," she laughed and bumped her with her hip, making both Dilshad and Asad laugh.
"I want to see the princesses, though," Mahek reminded her family for the umpteenth time since they'd arrived at the park.
"You don't have to meet the princesses, you are a princess," Asad teased as he dove to place kiss on her flushed cheek with an extra loud smack.
Dilshad looked up from the map that she was looking at and said, "Why don't you take Mehtab to see his ewafans' and I'll take Mahek to see her princesses. I think I see some long hair. Rapunzel is here." She laughed.
Mahek's eyes lit up at once.
Asad looked at his mother with relief, " That's a great idea and maybe when we're finished, we can find Ayaan Chachu and Humaira Khala and they'll take Mahek to splash mountain" he told her and muttered, "and Ammi-Abbu can rest.".
Zoya nodded solemnly at the last part.
Their trip to Disneyland had sounded perfect while they were planning it, but now that they had to deal with two squirming kids and two missing "kids", it did not sound like a well-thought of plan.
Throwing his head back Asad took a deep breath and said, "First off, elephants!"

The Khan family met at the decided point after having let the kids have their desired fun. They were thinking of getting some snacks when the MIA Khans decided to grace everyone with their presence.
"Howdy, family? This was the by far the best plan, Bhaijaan! Really, aapka dil dariya, dash samandar hai!" Ayaan plopped himself next to his brother.
Asad adjusted a wiggling Mehtab on his lap and looked at Ayaan, "Really? So glad that you could enough this with family!" he emphasized the on the last word.
Ayaan and Humaira had the decency to look embarrassed.
Mahek quickly scrambled over to Ayaan and enthusiastically told him about what she had done and seen.
Ayaan lifted her and threw her around, "Well, mohtarma, I see that you haven't gone It's a small world, yet. Your Khala and I did and guess what! You'll love it!"
Dilshad who had been silent till now, spoke up, "Did you, now? I hope you didn't scar the kids on the ride for life. It is a long ride in a darkened place and you two look awfully happy. "
The kids looked at their grandma in confusion while the adults spluttered out the drinks that they were drinking.
"AMMI!"
