It's unfair to compare Deepika with Katrina

I just checked JTHJ released on 13th november 2012...after that she had cameos in Main Krishna Hoon and Bombay Talkies...now ofcourse her fans didn't go to see those movies so they flopped. So her fans were waiting for Dhoom 3...however with Dhoom 3 she went back to Sheila Ki Jawaani + Chikni Chameli...
so since 13th november 2012 Katrina hasn't really acted in any movie...just small cameos and dancing around in ads and now Dhoom 3.

SO WHY ARE PEOPLE CONSTANTLY COMPARING DPAD WITH KATRINA? Dpad did YJHD and CE and RL and in 2012 Cocktail...those movies were about her and she had critics raving over her acting...

according to me:

1. Deepika Padukone
2. Nimrat Kaur
3. Sonakshi Sinha
4. Sonam Kapoor

^ Acting

Having people run to the cinema purely because they like to see you bounce your coconut...sure she is the best when it comes to that. NUMBER 1 KATRINA definitely. Dpad however fails to bounce everything so why would men want to see her?

Completely different...no comparison at all...Dpad has become an ACTRESS, while Katrina is still showpiece.

I'm sure her fans are crossing their fingers and looking forward to Phantom, Bang Bang, Fitoor, and Jagga Jasoos...but when one of those movies finally get released Kat will have turned a year older. Good luck waiting 😳

We Deepika fans still have Kochadaiyyan and Finding Fanny Fernandes and Happy New Year in october 2014

Two out of those three movies are already finished and just waiting to get released 🥳

So refreshing to finally see a DESI GIRL ruling again 👏

But here, directors create special NRI roles to work around certain people's lack of language skills and bad/average acting. I am not talking about Katrina in particular, but all the foreign actresses like Nargis, that Amy girl, and others. That is worse really.

And I wanted to say this because I keep hearing things like reverse racism and stuff. Which is funny because it's not like Indian actors are given meaty roles in Hollywood productions. So, the question arises because there are clear biases.

And #itsmyopinion

And Sana. You need to chill out. 😆 You are definitely in love with Katrina. As someone said, Nafrat paas aane naa de, mohabbat dur jaane na de. 😆

If you talk about race as a factor for being a good actress/celebrity or something that somehow makes Kat/Nargis/Amy any less than Deepika, it's racist.

Why go for the Oscars? Why shoot in foreign locations? Why hire "international" technical teams? Why use non-Indian state of art technology? Everything else bought from the outside but the face should be Indian. I don't even want to dignify that with a response.

Wait I think that was all to much for an IndiaForums discussion 😆 sorryimnotsorry

I was not saying that. I just said that white skinned people should also not get an advantage over the Indian girls. And if they were good actors, then the question of importing them in wouldn't even come up. But the problem is exactly that. The directors are not bringing in good actors from other places. They just keep bringing in exotic faces. And being a foreigner doesn't make anyone less than anyone else. Being a bad actor and yet having every role centred around them only to help conceal said bad acting does. And Deepika is a strictly average actress. She will fade out soon enough. But there are good Indian actresses too.
And if actresses can come from other places. then why not actors too? Also, American technology is borrowed by almost every industry. India is not big enough to create awesome technical details on its own. But not every industry borrows actresses and actors from America-England too. Borrowing people and borrowing tech are two different things. Every industry in India, from the jute mills to Bollywood, HAS to borrow foreign tech. But shouldn't the workers be Indian? And non-Indian workers should gain chances through their great credibility, just like good students and workers of Indian gain entrance in America/Europe based on their merit. But the acting thing is not based on the merit, but flimsy reasons like skintone. Now, if they bring actresses/actors like Emma Stone, Dakota, that is another question altogether. 👍🏼 And nobody is saying Katrina shouldn't be here. 😕 I am just saying there are certain reasons as to why her being here is often questioned by people.

Anyway, I believe we just have different opinions on this. 😊 Let's agree to disagree. Also, keep calm and wait for Highway.

Kat is not facing any type of "reverse racism." Whatever prejudice some members or audience may or may not have (according to some who want to say people who bring up certain points are being prejudiced), Katrina Kaif is in no way a victim of reverse racism. She, along with the many of the others, they benefit from their whiteness, not lose out. They are not suffering or facing any systematic problems due to their whiteness.
The idea of reverse racism is pretty absurd. Whites may face prejudice in India, but they still are the beneficiaries of many privileges simply due to their whiteness.
