Chapter 4

While they all paced back and forth waiting for the doctors to brief them on dadi, veers mind was stuck on what she had said to him'. maya'
His men had already gone through the whole venue and exit and were in the process of going through the guest list, he looked at unnathi as she was staring at her phone refusing to answer it. He couldn't help but notice just how frail she looked. He saw her looking at something in her hand smiling and then it vanished as she looked into his eyes' immediately closing her palms.
The doctor had finally come out , dadi was not in a serious condition just a fracture but her bp was high and they would be keeping her there for observation as it would pose a serious condition if her bp shot up any higher. He explained that she needed a lot of rest and enquired if she was under any sort of stress or tension. Before leaving the doctor had mentioned that dadi had asked to see veer.
Unnathi was relieved knowing that dadi was going to be fine. She sat down while komal and jagat spoke to the doctor. Her dad had still not even come to the hospital despite the many msgs and calls that were made by veer, komal and jagat. She didn't think once to inform Raj knowing that he was out of town and it would not have made any difference to him. She took out the chain again looking at it as she was relieved that her brother had not seen it. What she didn't understand though is how fatty had the chain and who was that lady he ran up to happily that sounded so much like' MAYA. NO' WHAT WOULD SHE BE DOING THERE'.AND RAHUL? HE WAS ALSO THERE' HE LOOKED SO'. HIS EYES THEY WERE THE SAME'.I NEED TO FIND OUT WHATS GOING ON BEFORE BHAIYYA'
She looked around and as veer walked into dadi's room. she decided to go to the centre and find out for herself.
There was a long paused silence after hearing maya's story. He could feel her pain and knew very well her sacrifice' a sacrifice he too had made in the name of love. He placed his hand over hers squeezing it tightly.
' Whatever has happened was meant to happen, maya. We cant change that but we can atleast live our life to the fullest and try to be happy knowing that the ones we love are happy, pata hai when I found out she was marrying some one else, that day felt like my heart was ripped in shreds. She didn't take my calls or accept my letters. She just asked me to let her be and live my life happily and she will be happy knowing I was over her, but truth be told I could never be over her and after seeing her again'. her eyes' something was definitely wrong. The pain, hurt and emptiness in them I cant forget'.'
Maya looked at him for the first time since the conversation. She could relateti his emptiness and pain and felt bad for dumping her stories on him when he was dealing with so much on his own. He was right the chain is lost and that's a sign maybe that she was never meant to have his chain in the first place'. You cant hold on to things that don't belong to you'..she wiped her tears and dusted her outfit standing up and right in front of him.

They both looked around knowing full well that they had a lot of cleaning up to do but before that they had a lot of disappointed kids who needed to be comforted after their show was interrupted and soon cancelled. They felt badly for that knowing how much the kids had rehearsed just for tonight.

He winked at maya who couldn't help but smile at his antics' she put away her thoughts and decided the kids happiness mean more to her than her emptiness, just to see their faces light up.

Unnathi had stopped to look around for fatty but was in for the surprise of her life when she saw maya.
She was about to give maya a piece of her mind for leaving her brother when for the first time she heard what really happened. Tears flowed from her eyes as she felt maya's humiliation and sacrifice for her love and her family. It didn't shock her hearing what her dad had done, she knew just how ruthless and demeaning he could be. She recalled the times he would pass snide remarks at Maya and Jai and how he insulted or tried embarrassing them repeatedly knowing that veer was in London. She hated what he had done to his family, he supported jagats drug problem never encouraging him to get help, he sent veer away on pretence of expanding developments and tendors in London, he physically and verbally abused their mother, had no respect for dadi and destroyed her life by getting her married to raj and now he was doing the same the same thing to veer all because of his own selfish motives''she looked at the locket again and back at maya realizing the depths of her love for her brother and then there was Rahul' hearing him '. Seeing him'. I AM SO SORRY RAHUL'..

Veer had kissed dadi's forehead as she smiled weakly, her medication finally kicking in causing her eyes to give in slowly. He looked at her again before closing the door. The rage he had suppressed inside while listening to dadi had resurfaced. He knew that dadi insisted that maya did not hear her that's why she didn't stop when she had called out to her but veer was in mood to think carefully. Dadi was in hospital because of maya, he found it strange that maya could not hear dadi and didn't even stop' no dadi maya was trying to get away from you' from me'. Well lets just just see how far you are going to run maya'. You hate me that much that you would ignore dadi?? As he drove off apart of him didn't want to be reasonable and actually consider that she didn't hear dadi calling out to her all he wanted now was to find her and''.. just find her

Unnathi gulped as she balled her fist tighter, but he had already seen it and snatched it from her hand slapping her hard as she sank to the ground, he looked at the writing on it and smirked before throwing the chain away.

Ms Bruganza smiled at Rahul while her mind was wondering how Rahul knew the Singh's so well. He had called the hospital who confirmed that Mrinalini Singh mother of well known controversial business tycoon Giriraj Singh known as Saab often linked to the underworld and the increased illegal arms trade that he controls. Rahul looked up at Ms Bruganza and could see the many questions running through her mind. He decided to end her confusion'..

Before raj could even understand what happened, he felt a strong blow land across his right cheek as he turned to look at the person who dared to make that mistake'..
Ms Bruganza picked fatty up and held him tight as she looked at raj with anger. Rahuls eyes were blazing as he looked at raj.
He walked towards unnathi whose mouth was bleeding. ' Tum theek ho naa?'
Raj clapped walking around the twosome while they looked at him as if he was some sort of retard.

Before he could go any further he was pounded with another slap'

Maya was tucking the kids in reassuring them that tomorrow is a day of surprises and lots of fun as rahul had planned a day out for them to make up for their disappointments today. She was looking for fatty and surprised to see him not in bed'. Probably with rahul. She switched off the lights and decided to head back to the empty marquee and clear up. The weather had changed drastically, windy and the rain had just started'..she looked around for rahul but he was no where to be seen. While clearing out the tables she couldn't help but look around the ground in hopes of finding the '..

She froze to her spot as she saw the chain dangling in front of her. His eyes were impassive and expressionless. This cant be happening now' while finally gaining the ability to speak.
'Veer'.. '
'SURPRISE, SURPRISE'
She swallowed on hearing the mock sarcasm in his voice as he started walking slowly towards her.
While she walked backwards knowing full well there was no where she could actually go. He was few inches away from her face and she could feel his breathe on her cheek.
'Did you really think I would stop looking for you?'
Her breathing hitched as her face heated being so close to him, she dared not to look into his eyes. Eyes that she would lose herself too.
'Veer I '' I am sorry ' I '
'Sorry for what maya?'
He circled around her swinging the chain around his index finger, making it very difficult for her as he pushed her hair to one side from her neck, his fingers on her skin sending currents through out her body
'I UMMM' for .. for leaving'.and the chain''

She knew his game only too well, he was taunting her'.she had to hold back the tears and get tough again
'Listen veer I am sorry that things didn't work out the way you wanted them too'.the chain didn't quiet go with my outfit so I '.
He ran his fingers through her hair as the soft grip turned forceful when he pulled her around to face him

She closed her eyes as tears formed, he knew he was hurting her but he wanted her to feel the pain, which is nothing compared to what she had given him. Why is she doing this? he could still see the effect he had on her' so why is she still so hell bent on keeping me away from her?. F*&K she is beautiful, I so badly want to taste her lips now.
'Veer please you are ' hurting me'

The tears she was holding back were now flowing from her eyes '.

And his lips were on hers, soft sensuous lips taking hers, demanding entry to her mouth. Trying to soothe her pain as he gently now stroked the back of her head loosening his grip and pulling her towards him, he bit her lower lip when she refused to let his tongue enter her mouth and soon his sensuous kiss became intense as his lips where ravishing and devouring her. Staking his claim on her and she had no choice as she gave in to his passion as he moaned into her mouth venting out his anger at her. She was breathless and finally managed to push him off her, his eyes were blazing hot, hypnotic and lustful, breathing heavily while his eyes never leaving hers' he spoke

She gasped when she touched it not even realizing when or how he put it around her neck. She looked at him and just wanted to tell him everything when he grabbed her hand.

His eyes bore into hers as he smirked wickedly. She couldn't answer or protest, she swallowed hard and brushed away the tears as he walked out holding her hand firmly. He was so angry... and the last thing she wanted to do was aggravate him further...
