I know you have been waiting for my reply and please don't be angry with me. I have just been really busy' busy thinking so let me not drag this. I will keep it honest and simple. I have been doing a lot of thinking after your last letter'. YOUR PROPOSAL. Its given me a clear perspective on everything. At first I thought it was a joke of some sort, I thought you found a gorgeous English lady who has swept you off your feet

but your second letter proved me wrong' and it made me realise I am not the one for you

In fact I think even your feelings are wrong, we don't love each other, Love is too strong a word to use and marriage is a definite NO. I have just become a habit you were accustomed to. It happens we practically grew up together. I mean we are just good friends an when I said I loved you I do but only as a friend.

I am sorry I can not accept your proposal, I can not spend my life with some one I don't love' While I will always be obligated to you and your family for taking us in, it's a sacrifice I don't need to make. Its not like we didn't pay our dues, we worked for the roof over our head and the food we ate and now I cant do this anymore.
