After embracing motherhood, actress Rubina Dilaik found herself facing intense trolling over the changes in her appearance. The television star recently spoke about how people on social media began passing cruel remarks about the way she looked after becoming a mother, with many criticising her face, body, and overall appearance. Opening up about the experience, Rubina shared that the constant judgement initially affected her deeply, but over time she learned how to rise above the negativity and stop letting online opinions control her peace of mind.
Speaking about the hurtful comments she has encountered, Rubina revealed that many people accused her of altering her looks through cosmetic procedures. She said she frequently came across remarks suggesting she looked older or different than before. Recalling some of the trolling, the actress shared, “People have said things like, ‘She has started looking strange, maybe she got Botox done, maybe she had surgery or body treatments.’ I have heard all kinds of comments.” Despite hearing such criticism repeatedly, she explained that she eventually realised there was no point in trying to satisfy everyone.
Rubina admitted that there was a time when such remarks used to disturb her emotionally. She confessed that negative opinions earlier had a strong impact on her confidence and mental state. However, with time and experience, she understood that reacting to trolls only gives them more influence. “I cannot control what others think about me, but I can control how I react,” she said while reflecting on her journey towards self acceptance.

The actress further explained that once people know what affects someone emotionally, they continue targeting the same insecurities. This made her realise the importance of not handing over emotional control to strangers online. Instead of wasting energy on negativity, Rubina said she now chooses to focus on gratitude and self belief.
Apart from addressing trolling, Rubina also spoke about the unrealistic beauty standards women are expected to follow today. She expressed concern over how cosmetic enhancements and artificial perfection are slowly becoming normalised, especially among women trying to fit into society’s idea of beauty. According to her, there is growing pressure to have fuller lips, perfectly sculpted features, and flawless skin in order to be considered attractive.
Sharing her thoughts on individuality, Rubina said, “Every woman wants to look beautiful, but it is sad that people now think if you do not have plumped lips, Botox cheeks, or a chiselled nose, you are somehow behind everyone else.” She further questioned why uniqueness is disappearing when every person is naturally different. “If everybody starts looking the same, then what was the point of being created unique?” she added.

Through her honest remarks, Rubina highlighted the emotional pressure many women face after motherhood and the damaging effect of unrealistic beauty expectations. At the same time, she encouraged women to embrace themselves confidently rather than chasing approval from strangers or impossible standards created online. On the work front, Rubina is all set to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 again as the show will be exploring the concept of 'Old Vs New contestants' this time around.
