Arohi's day always started early. Today too was no different, for her it all seemed perfect just like any other day , but not to guddi, she wanted a green suit and it was in the laundry , she told arohi that she will not come out if she cannot wear the it, she made a huff pushed her plate stomped off making big movements of her arms and sat in the chair with her hand on her forehead partly covering her eyes. This meant she is really angry and wont talk until she gets her way. Arohi did not expect this to happen but she was always prepared for the unexpected so quickly decided to give hers instead even if it meant she will never get to wear that again, once she tells guddi something is hers it just will become hers, she wont give it back. It did not matter much as long as they can get to school on time. She showed her the dress and told her 'this is for you , new one, happy? ', suddenly guddi was happy, she opened her eyes wide and opened her mouth and clapped and finally got ready. Now came another tanturm, she wanted a matching chain along with it, this time arohi was helpless , she neither had one in green beads nor she had the time to search for anything close. She heard the van honk the horn , and literally dragged guddi out along with her, closing the door behind her and forcefully made her get in the van. Guddi chose a diff seat now, she wanted to sit away from arohi , she turned her face completely towards the window showing her back to her sister. Arohi left out a sigh, she will have to take her shopping later .
After a while arohi realized she had left the box of supplies at home and she needed them today . She asked the driver to stop the van, one of the teachers asked what the matter was then said 'why do u want to go back now, u can have the session tomorrow' arohi replied she had planned it for today and tomorrow she needs them to do some practice so she has to go now, saying that she got down and went to the nearby tree and stood there looking around for an auto, with no luck.
Arjun was coming back after receiving his mom and grandma from the station early in the morning, dropped them home and since his dad and jignesh left to the mill early too, he thot of going there since he was up and ready. He was driving and remembering how crazy his daadi can get and smiled , she was a sweetheart she preferred old ways of traveling, old song, old recipes, but her thinking was always in sync with new generation. She encouraged arjun and raashi to follow their heart since childhood, taught the values of relationships, value of people, value of money, Rudra was no less but daadi took the crown in anything and everything.
He suddenly slowed down seeing arohi standing there so early on the road alone, trying to call someone. Suddenly his smile got broader , he stopped near by and got down and went near her. Arohi was surprised to see him there, he took off his goggles and said 'hi , remember me?' 'hi , yeah I do ofcourse, how are you ?' 'fine, what are you doing here ? you okay?' 'yeah, I am fine thanks' and again looked at the far end of the road, if her luck has changed. He looked along with her and sensed she must be waiting for an auto or something, 'are you going somewhere, or waiting for someone' arohi was used to talking to people but in limits but now the situation was different, sanchit wont take her call and the autos seem to have forgotten this route , 'yeah , I am going back to get some stuff and cant find an auto nor is sanchit taking my call' he noticed her earrings moved side to side while she spoke , he liked it , then as if understanding what she said just then he looked at her and offered a ride ' I can drop you at your home, if that is okay with you' arohi looked at her watch and again looked at the road 'Even though I am hungry , I wont eat you, I promise' he said laughingly. Arohi agreed with a smile cursing her luck one last time and followed him to the car, before he cld come to open the door for her, she opened and got in and buckled her seat belt. He was left wih no choice but to start driving. Both did not know how to start a conversation, for Arjun being silent was most difficult thing, 'when did you start your school?' arohi was never tired to talk about it 'it will be a year coming next week' 'good, do you find it hard to manage' 'no , not really I have a good team of teachers , so it is okay' 'doesn't it get lonely sometimes' he said implying the busy city and the calm town , she thot he was implying her life and did not know what to answer , 'are you ready to tell me ?' 'tell what?' she asked confused , what is he implying , 'tell me where to go , I don't know where you live' ' oh , right' she couldn't believe she actually thot he would ask about her. They reached her home , she thanked him , expecting him to leave , she would go back with sanchit. He wanted to make sure she went in and stayed there, while arohi reached her front door. He looked at her home, it was fairly new , with a big colourful garden and it looked like there was constant gardening going on with the fresh mud, tools etc. Then she saw her going thru her purse trying the door knob again and looking in the purse again. He knew exactly what might have happened. Got down and reached her, she was scared for a second to see a man suddenly next to her, god, 'what happened, did you lock yourself out' she did not like that he was still there and that he knew that she was locked out, 'I will find the key' ' allright' he said staying there, she took few more mins 'you sure you don't want me to kick it open' 'whattt' 'just kidding, but for the record I can break a door' 'no, no need for that, my aunt has a spare key I will get it,' she walked as fast as she could and crossed the street. Knocked and banged on the door , but there was no sign of anyone. He reached there too, 'this is sanchit's house , and they have a spare key, but noone seems to open the door' she said without asking, she rang the bell couple more times. Before she could try again the gate opened and sachit bua and her uncle came in, arohi what happened and who is this, lovedeep asked, 'mom this is arjun singhania, and aro what happened' 'I locked myself out and I want the keys and where were you all' and withoug listening to bua's reply they are coming back from the temple, she ran in got the keys and ran to her house. soon it was all settled she went in to get her box, Arjun was still there talking to sanchit , bua and her uncle glancing at her door every other minute . Bua was observing him keenly.
As arohi came out, with a box and an apple in her hand, both sanchit and arjun went to get it, she handed the box over to sanchit and gave the apple to arjun, he looked at her questioningly, 'you said you were hungry ' she said as a matter of fact, 'oh well,I will eat it anyway thanks' he said. she asked sanchit to drop her at the school but bua cut in, oh no sanchit did you forget again, get ready get ready' 'forgot what ?' arohi asked her bua 'oh don't ask me dear, I get angry everytime reminding him about it, arjun beta do you mind dropping arohi back at school' arohi gave a stare at her but bua cared less. Sanchit took the hint and hittin the back of his head 'sorry ma , will get to it asap' kept the box on arjun's car and they all went in leaving a shocked arohi behind. Arjun smiled ' lets go' arohi just sat in his car with the box on her lap, he wanted to tell her to keep it in the back , but sensing her mood he kept quiet , they reached the school in silence, which for the first time he didnot mind. He stopped the car and offered to take the box from her , 'no please, I cant bother you any further' she said, and signaled the office boy to come and get it. Then she turned to arjun and smiled 'thanks so much' ' it was my pleasure, and thanks for the apple', she smiled again. He liked what he saw. Her face all worked up with all that had happened , her eyes shining brightly and her smile. He was taken over by her smile , it was so genuine and pure, 'see you later' he said as she got down , she smiled again looking back and went in. he left from there , pushing in the cd his daadi was listening to, ''.aapka muskurana gajab ho gaya , chand jaane kaha kho gaya '' started playing , he took a bite of the apple and couldn't help but smile all the way . He was attracted to her.
