Share a little known fact about you I was born and brought up in Mumbai and spent my childhood in Bhuleshwar. I was very studious in school. I was very shy and found it difficult speaking to women. I was always interested in acting so I started doing theatre from the age of 12 and many people appreciated my acting talent and suggested I should take acting as a career. And my mom also saw the talent in me and helped me making my career in acting and today here I am. |
What are your passions? I love travelling and meeting different and new people. Different people teach you different things. You get to know various perceptive about life and that's why I love making friends. I also love watching films. How much Jethalal is in you as a person? Not at all. I am totally different from Jethalal. He is always fun and laughing whereas I am actually serious. |
How much life has changed after you signed the show Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashma? It has changed a lot as now people recognize me wherever I go. Everyone comes to me and ask for an autograph. I am happy that I make people laugh because it's very difficult to do that. |
What's the best thing about being an actor? Being an actor you love the attention and recognition you get from audience, fans and industry. Your work gets recognized by a large audience whereas if you are working in a bank or something only your boss knows how capable you are at your work. |
You don't have any personal life left. Wherever you go people keep a watch on you.
Who is your idol?
My mother. She has been with me whenever I needed her to show me the correct path. She is very practical woman and I love her.
(laughs) No no one has hit on me. But I remember I was in Muscat when an Arabic man in his full attire suddenly came upto me and said, " Hi Jhethalal! I saw here and there to check with whom he is talking then he continued by saying- I watch your show regularly and love it specially your wife, Daya in the show."
Apart from TMKOC which other TV shows you watch? I am so busy working and shooting that I don't get time to watch even my own serial. But sometimes I watch Friends and right now there is a show on STAR Plus called Sasural Genda Phool which is very nice. | |||

If not working? Then I am spending time with my family because I hardly get time to spent with them. so even If I get three hours I am with them talking and spending quality time. For every relationship communication is the best key. |
