I agree with you mdroy. Their voices and styles ARE quite different. They both have rich and deep voices, but that's about all the similarities I can see...and ofcourse that they are both wonderful singers. But I prefer SPB's Tamil and Telugu songs ...some diction issues in Hindi.

Himani is the best without any doubt on this show

This is proven again and again

She is much better the Vinit and Hema put togather.

In fact the best ratings would hve seen

Himani as no 1

Nihira as no 2

Then Boys

Remove HR antics from Vinit and he will collapse . Himani has the best mentor on the show AS and pls listen to the thumri sang by her for AS chingari and it is so amazing for a 17 year old to sing like that

HIMANI IS THE BEST

I agree ! With Ismail walking off simply shows that justice has not been done. He is avery straightforward. I agree SRGMP os giving us a empty hollow feeling. If Vineet wins, then this competition is not going to be as popular next year. Shame on HR for being so biased about Vineet

Bhaskar, Kafka - Thanks for the update. I would like to see the episode on my own before making comments on the quality - and look forward to is as it seems to be a Qawalli round and all the songs picked are popular songs that can be compared to.

Just some comments related to other threads within this topic of the top of my head..
1. When one is at this level of competition, even one small error can make a difference. If Debo has chosen a tough song - it still has to be sung perfect to compete with others - it they were sung without a hitch. Cannot use the excuse that if it is a tough song - a mistake is OK because that is what the difference will be. It is his or ID's responsibility to pick songs that will make their mark and can be sung flawlessly.

2. After hearing all these singers over and over again - in my car as I drive - I am convinced that Himani should finish on top. She has that little extra that sets her apart. That extra is that where others sing their songs - she almost lives the songs she sings. Her emotions as she sings sets her apart and gives her songs a different edge.

3. Himani, Vineet and Nihira would have been my top three picks with Hema very close up there. Hema has a wonderful voice - but I think he has a limited regime for the type of songs (especially Hindi) that suit him.
Vineet and Nihira by far had the widest range of vocal octaves but as I said earlier - Himani has that extra edge --- will see how the Indian public feels.

4. To my ears the top five performaces I have heard on Ch2005 (I did not hear the Ujjaini Black song that HR raves about) are in order:
😛 Jiya Dhadak Dhadak (Himani)
😛 Tera Jadoo Chal gaya (Vineet)
😛 Chitthiye Dard Firaq (Himani)
😛 Kacche Dhaage (Himani)
😛 Hai Rama (Hema)
😉 with Baaghbaan (Himani) and Aashiq Banaya (Vineet) a very close sixth.

5. I don't know who else felt this - but the movie versions of Chitthiye and Kacche Dhaage have both been sung by Lata - but listen to those and they do not stay with you as do Himani's renditions of the same songs.

You guys/gals in India - how much of a reality show is this - I am just wondering if ID's walk off is spontaneous or staged for some more theatical effects on the show.......

Keep up those updates ..... 😛 Jaykay

I mean, mdroy, their is not even a spider's sticky thread connecting the duo (if it is not a certain region of the country). you can equate with anything thinner. I took this as a ready example.

Given the bunch of bathroomsingers at the SRGMPC stage, expecting a perfect rendition is expecting too much. It is not that one singer attempting a tougher song just for the sake of it and others capable of singing easier ones perfectly. It is about maintaining same weighing scale to weight the performances of one and all. It is as simple as that: If himani and vineet can get 10/10 for such singing, then debo should have got at least 11 on the same scale.
2. After hearing all these singers over and over again - in my car as I drive - I am convinced that Himani should finish on top. She has that little extra that sets her apart. You are lucky to find it!!!

Vineet and Nihira by far had the widest range of vocal octaves but as I said earlier - Himani has that extra edge (if only could I find that edge and knew where it lies) --- will see how the Indian public feels.

You have every right for the listing. I have to respect your appraisal also.

What I guess, why the lata version couldn't stay with you in comparison to himani is, might be you are in the knowledge of the fact that how far himani's is from lata and how close her's is to yourself.....
You guys/gals in India - how much of a reality show is this - I am just wondering if ID's walk off is spontaneous or staged for some more theatical effects on the show.......
Why, HR is still covering the whole stage.....until then, you can't expect any aaidee-faaidee to take his role.....Never!!!

Keep up those updates ..... 😛 Jaykay
Well, in the end I have just this:😊

Ortho:

You obviously seem to have a soft spot for Debo and you are absolutely entitled to your opinion.

If you look overall and consistency week after week, I still think that Debo is the weakest of what is left and Nihira should have been here instead of him.

We do not get to see this episode until Tuesday - so will not comment yet on the marking from the mentors - although I do not pay too much attention to that anymore since there are obvious biases creeping in. In fact I have only found ID to be the most impartial - as he has not hesitated to let his own singers know of a bad performance and has been quick to credit other mentors' singers with good performances.

Last week - though I would have marked somewhat different. Hema would have been higher than Vineet. Vineet sang well - but he was not exceptional - the song he sang was created to generate emotions and obviously it did with the voting public. Hema was exceptional and Himani was as good and better. If one goes by your marking system of taking into account difficulty of performance then Nihira should have deserved the "11" last week as she sang a very difficult song - really well <I have already posted earlier that I thought her song selection was what brought her down>. Debo also had a tough song and should have been marked higher - probably at the same level as Vineet (because of the one miscue in the antara).

It's all good though - if you call all these singers bathroom singers - then I don't even have a word for myself.... Just chill ... chill - just chill...😊
