Hema did his best and ofcourse Hemani is the only female contestant and she is anyways one of the top contestants.

An episode worth forgetting. Maybe in the history of SRGMP such a thing has never happened before. It was sad watching Ismailji walking off. While he was talking it was evident he was in lot of pains. Nihira's elimination then Debojit's mentor marks made him take this decision.

Here's the list of songs the participants sang… Sidhu gave comments using shayari to every contestent. I'll add all those shero-shayeri later to this topic. Now just the songs.

Hemchandra : Nightmare-That he gets eliminated and does not live up to the expectations of his parents.

Mentometer : 8/10/10 (Himesh, Ismail, Jatin)

Himani : Nightmare-That she'll loose her voice suddenly one day when she gets up from her sleep. Her voice may become like Vinit, Debu or Hem.

Kab aayoge, Kab aayoge, Jism se jaan juda hogi tab aayoge, Der na ho jaaye Kahi deer na Ho Jaaye.

Mentometer : 10/10/10

Vinit : Nightmare-Worried about his mother that she should not be in any trouble. And if she is in any trouble then he won't be able to sing properly.

Parda hai Parda, Parde ke peechhe, Parda nashi..

Mentometer : 10/10/10

Debojit : Nightmare-That lines to North East will go down or may not work and his votes will get affected.

Na to Carvan ki talaash hai, Na to humsafar ki talaash hai.

Mentometer : 6/7/9 (Adesh, Himesh, Jatin)

Everyone rendered the song beautifully. Debu again made a mistake and also did not memorized the song. He sang it reading. But don't think that amounted to that mentometer. The song was a very difficult one and he did justice to that. Vinit sang without any hitch but again he did not impress me that much. Himani made the day. She was the best today for me. Hemchandra also sang perfect. But it was Himani's day…

bhaskar, nothing wrong in reading and then singing.All that counts is the way you perform.......And if he had performed so well then,as in update of adwarakanath then I would rather say he deserved perfect 10 too. I have not yet seen the episode but I would see it on monday and tuesday and will check abouts deboo's performace

ID is not to be blamed for the departure of Nihira and debo,but the choice of songs do make a difference.
The other mentors chose numbers to suit their contestant's genre.Nihira ofcourse managed very well but at times it does not sound great to people who haven't learnt music.Like the "kajra re".Nihira was brilliant but it did not appeal to many.
Debo should have chosen some other quawali.
Ofcourse all this analysis is useless because the results are manipulated,so even if Hema and Debo give their best performances,it's going to be in vain.

After Nihira's exit I was wondering if all this is just to find another Sonu Nigam to get back at him for quitting Saregama.I may be wrong but has Sonu Nigam sung for HR??
Nigam also started off cloning Rafisaab and then went on to create a niche for himself.Maybe HR and GS are having similar plans for Vinit.
Vinit is no doubt very talented and will learn the ropes of cinematic singing quickly.

Nihira...you have the voice quality of Lataji/Ashaji but you are original. 👏
Hema you have the tonal quality of Dr.Balasubramaniam,but you have superb voice modulation.You sound different in every song you sing. 👍🏼
Both are destined for something better,that's why this fate on this show.

thanks for update sujal fan.mumbai mirror paper/mag -is payed by zee or owned by it /writes such offensive articles.extremely biased.ID walk out was a publicity stunt???ask all viewer in the forum,how many will beleive that.

First of all topic should read as Update 13th January 2006. At first I thought it was wrong to allow the public to vote.

After watching the latter part of this show, I now think it was a good idea to have voting done by the public because grades given by the mentors are totallly biased and unfair. If the contestant is a favourite by the mentors, he is given a good grade irrespective of how poorly he has sung. I dont think Debojit deserves the rankings given by HR and AS.

Thanks so much for the updates. I noticed repeatedly that Hema is often
comapred to SPB and of course Hema is a fan of SPB but I don't hear any
similarities in their voices or singing style.

Does anyone agree with me?
