Sunita Ahuja enters vlogging, netizens see shades of Farah Khan’s style in her ‘Dilip’ character

Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja has stepped into the world of vlogging, launching her own YouTube channel on August 15. The channel, named simply Sunita Ahuja, gained over 42,000 subscribers within its first 22 hours. Her debut vlog, titled Aab Mein Paise Chapugi (Now, I will mint some money), shows her visiting a temple to pray for her husband.

In the video, Sunita is accompanied by a staff member named Mukesh. Viewers were quick to draw parallels with filmmaker Farah Khan’s popular vlogs, which often feature her cook, Dilip. The resemblance prompted many online to say Sunita had found her own “Dilip”.

Promoting her video on Instagram, Sunita wrote, “Biwi No. 1 ?? aab aa chuki hai YouTube channel par ??… like karo, share karo, subscribe kardoo and comment me batao kaisa laga aapko.”

While the vlog crossed half a million views in less than a day, the response was divided. Some social media users accused her of copying Farah Khan’s format. “Yeh Farah Khan ki sasti copy banne ki koshish kar rahi hai,” read one comment. Another remarked, “Same concept… Farah Khan aur Dilip jaisa.” Others questioned outright, “Does she copy Farah Khan and her helper Dilip?”

However, several viewers welcomed her to YouTube and wished her well. “Pure soul but sharp tongue is hated by everyone… good to see you, keep your vlogs flowing,” one wrote. Another comment read, “She speaks her mind… despite controversies, she shows who she really is.”

Interestingly, Farah Khan herself responded to Sunita’s debut. Sharing Sunita’s post on her Instagram Stories, she wished her luck and addressed her as “Biwi No.1”.

Sunita and Govinda have been married since 1987 and share two children, Tina and Yashvardhan. Over the years, Sunita has occasionally made headlines, often standing firmly by Govinda’s side during public controversies. Earlier this year, the couple was in the news after rumours of Govinda’s alleged affair circulated, though they did not issue a clear statement on the matter.

For now, Sunita’s channel has made a strong start, but the comparisons with Farah Khan’s format seem likely to follow as she builds her online presence.
