War2 BO Day 2 Estimates: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR movie to make Rs 40 crore; grows by 40 percent

War 2 has opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. While the climax is getting a lot of love, people are quite upset with the shoddy VFX, colour grading and poor execution. They feel Junior NTR could have been used in a much better manner. However, the audience seems to have found it good time pass. War 2 saw a growth of 40 – 45 per cent on Friday i.e. Independence Day, which is a healthy sign. It should make Rs 45 – 50 crores across all Indian languages with Rs 40 crores coming in from the Hindi belt. War 2 saw occupancy over 60 per cent in theatres in the evening in the 2D screens.

The two-day total of the movie should be around Rs 70 crores. However, the figures are expected to dip further in the South Indian states. It was expected though. Coolie is going strong at the South Indian box office. War 2’s second day seems to be better than that of the 2019 film. However, one should note that it was a working day. Tomorrow, it is Janmashthami and a partial holiday in some parts of the nation. War2 should benefit from the same. Hrithik Roshan is in top form as Kabir and people are praising him unanimously.

The bookings on BookMyShow are happening at a fast pace. It seems 40K tickets are being booked per hour. Ayan Mukerji has made his first action spy thriller with War 2. Known for his romantic films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Wake Up Sid, Mukerji impressed Aditya Chopra with Brahmastra. The YRF honcho felt he could deliver a visual spectacle that he hoped for. War 2 and Coolie have done brisk business in the first two days. The Rajinikanth film made Rs 151 crores worldwide on day one.
