UPDATE 13TH JANUARY 2005

An episode worth forgetting. Maybe in the history of SRGMP such a thing has never happened before. It was sad watching Ismailji walking off. While he was talking it was evident he was in lot of pains. Nihira's elimination then Debojit's mentor marks made him take this decision.

Here's the list of songs the participants sang… Sidhu gave comments using shayari to every contestent. I'll add all those shero-shayeri later to this topic. Now just the songs.

Hemchandra : Nightmare-That he gets eliminated and does not live up to the expectations of his parents.

Ishq jaise hai ek aandhi, Ishq jaise ek tufan

Mentometer : 8/10/10 (Himesh, Ismail, Jatin)

Himani : Nightmare-That she'll loose her voice suddenly one day when she gets up from her sleep. Her voice may become like Vinit, Debu or Hem.

Kab aayoge, Kab aayoge, Jism se jaan juda hogi tab aayoge, Der na ho jaaye Kahi deer na Ho Jaaye.

Mentometer : 10/10/10

Vinit : Nightmare-Worried about his mother that she should not be in any trouble. And if she is in any trouble then he won't be able to sing properly.

Parda hai Parda, Parde ke peechhe, Parda nashi..

Mentometer : 10/10/10

Debojit : Nightmare-That lines to North East will go down or may not work and his votes will get affected.

Na to Carvan ki talaash hai, Na to humsafar ki talaash hai.

Mentometer : 6/7/9 (Adesh, Himesh, Jatin)

Everyone rendered the song beautifully. Debu again made a mistake and also did not memorized the song. He sang it reading. But don't think that amounted to that mentometer. The song was a very difficult one and he did justice to that. Vinit sang without any hitch but again he did not impress me that much. Himani made the day. She was the best today for me. Hemchandra also sang perfect. But it was Himani's day…

HR to Hemu's perfect song: 8
AS to Vinit's (Parda hai): 10

Can't look beyond the bias. What a disgrace to the show,
HR is. Sharib sung this song better than Vinit.

AS gave 6 to Debo
HR gave 7.

To tell more...AS gave 4 last week! While HR gave 7!!

I know everyone doesnt like HR's acts on the show...just because of that...you cannot overlook other mentors....

Hey I am not saying he sang bad. He sang the most difficult song among the whole lot today. And he did justice to the song. It was a very very difficult song. And 6/7.... well sorry to say that was very very low for that song...

I tell you I am dead sure he'll come back again with a green in the next round. Ismailji my wish to you is do come back.... Debu needs your support...

METHINKS HIMANI was the most impressive today..she has been consistent from the start of the show..
nxt DEBU..tough choice of song...slipped at a couple of places..but was worth more than what the mentors gave him..
VINIT..a good singer..

HEMU..not his best performance today..probably we hope a lot better from him ,now that the show's comin to the climax....HEMU has great voice quality(original voice)and also has stage presence..so hopefully will survive the regional voting..

Thanks, Sujalfan. Somehow the fun seems to have gone from SRGMP replaced by an empty hollow feeling.

The real talent was Nihira, the show without her was somewhat pathetic. That is the reason for Ismail to walk out.
The next most deserving contestant is Himani, atleast she should win the contest.

Debojit's performance was absolutely BRILLIANT today considering he sang a song which , my FATHER told me, was performed by 3 singers ( Manna Dey , Md Rafi & ....I cant remember his name)& has considerable overlapping of the words . I have to say to read the lyrics of a God-forsakenly tough song & singing it with only 1 mistake (or maybe no mistake at all) was absolutely FANTASTIC. So I think the mentors (two of them - AS , HR ) deliberately put down his performance as I think they are trying to kick him out of the compettition.Only Jatin did justice to Debu's song by awarding him 9 points.Nothing to say about HIMANI or HEMACHANDRA BECAUSE THEY WERE BRILLIANT AS USUAL.

Dont want to start a new thread for this.Hope sujal fan doesnt mind my addition esp since my opinions dont seem very compatible with his own.So here goes.

well none of them really impressed.All suffered the out of genre effects.Maybe apt reminder of the greatness of the original singers.All the songs werent easy, but in my opinion some of the 10s were undeserved.
😉 well the originals of all these songs are around at raaga or musicindiaonline.Maybe a listen will change ur opinion if u think that the contestants were perfect)

Let me make it clear that in my opinion hema was the best and debo was probably the poorest today .But it must be taken into consideration that debu probably attempted the most difficult song of the four. very classical heavy number.started well but had few probs on the way.
well folks a very tough song with a coupla big stumbles vs a moderately tough song with a coupla small stumbles

You can fault ID for the choice of song but in my opinion what really irked him was the disparity in scoring by AS and HR. i do feel that if himani and vineet deserved all 10's for their attempts( note they were nowhere close to the orignals by lata and rafi) then surely debu deserved at least an 8 for his song.It may be noted that Jatin gave him a 9.
AS 's 4 and HR's 7 for his last performance are also questionable.

well regarding ID's exit he didnt create any ruckus.Was pretty clear abt what he was doing and it sounded very heartfelt.He said that he felt Nihira had gotten a raw deal and that he couldnt bear to see his other contestant(debu) to being subject to unfair treatment..a clear rejoider at the scores given by AS and HR. Said he felt uncomfortable abt staying in SRGMP and apologized to gajji and well left.

Few parting thougts
a)i think people should remember that the scores given are for the attempts made and that n most cases a 10 score doesnt mean a perfect renderation.i also feel that complexity of the song be taken into account.
b) Secondly i think all the mentors have their own niche musical preferences which affect their judgement(well u can gauge by the expression heh.. heh)
c)Thirdly and lastly i think today's antics by AS for himani and HR for vinit must be seen to be believed (esp considering the performaces they churned out)
d)Lastly for me the finds of saregamapa are definately the girls Himani and Nihira and well i feel sad that it is unlikely that either will win 🤢
