Disclaimer: I believe in daughter having right in the family as much as the son. So dont get me wrong if my questions sound misogynistic. I am just going by the standards of ITV.
I have been watching this show from January this year and following most discussions but not sure anyone pondered on this issue.
Samrat is a Salunkhe I guess, so what happened to Salunkhe family? Mansi Bua must have come to her maika after elder Salunkhe's demise. In that case Pakhi is not a Chavan bahu. :P (may be thats why special treatment) unless Bhavani has adopted him.
North Indian relations are different from south indian sometimes. In south India, Pakhi is like sister to Virat after her marriage to Samrat. If SamrAkhi has a child in future, they will call Virat mama not chacha.
Somehow I am confused with the relationships in this show. Can someone enlighten me :) Thanks.
I don't think Bhawani has adopted Samrat. Mansi came back to Chavan niwas after her husband's death since her in laws were not treating her well after husband's death or something like that. Technically Pakhi is not Chavan Bahu nor is she Patralekha Chavan (Most probably its a blooper).
I am from UP. Now that I have cleared this up, I'll speak from my knowledge.
Since Samrat is Virat's bua's son, he is elder cousin of Virat and Mohit. Virat and Mohit's children will call him Bade papa. If Patralekha and Samrat were to have a child, they will call Virat and Mohit Chacha or Kaka. (Not sure but I think in Marathi father's brother, whether elder or younger regardless are called Kaka only, So maybe Samrat would be called Kaka only instead of Bade papa)
Between Devi and Samrat, I am not sure who is elder. In any case Harini will call all three brothers as Mama. Samrat's child will call Devi bua.
In North India actually, your elder sister or brother are like you mother and father, like your didi or jiji is like mother and bade bhaiya is like father. Hence their spouses are like your father and mother respectively. This is why Bhabhi is like mother.
And younger brother or sister are like your children and their respective spouses are also like your children.
