Chapter 17

ETF conference Room

Saakshi was working on the case reports for next days crime page. When Arjun berged in.

Saakshi : Arjun, I've prepared last case's report...have a look...should I add these information there...She passed the file to Arjun which he ignored .

Saakshi : Arjun! Have a look...I've to go newspaper office! I'm getting late.

Arjun : You are going nowhere...

Saakshi : Excuse me!!

Arjun : Didn't you hear? You are staying in the office... Reports mail kardo...

Saakshi : But mujhe kaam hain...

Arjun : Kaam yahan vi hain...you were supposed to give us the names...and those ladies...

Saakshi : yeah..I'll talk to them...I'm going to health club tomorrow...toh main aur Sonali milke baat karr lenge.

Arjun : Tum aab club nehi jaogi...

Saakshi: What!! Arjun, pehle yeh decide karo ki main kuch karu ya nehi? Ek toh kaam dete ho...par kaam karne nehi dete ho! Are you all right? Kahin tumhare brain ke saar bearings ghis toh nehi gaye?

Arjun : Office main aur vi kaam hain, Saakshi. Shree is gathering informations... usko sort out karke full reports banao, aur submit karo...he can't do it alone...

Saakshi : Tum vul rahe ho Arjun, he has a team to do that... aur mera kaam hain tum logon ka kaam khatam hone ke baad uska ek complete report banake usko HQ and media pe send karna...aur media main tum logon ko represent karna...that's it.

Arjun : Case investigation ka part hona vi tumhara kaam ka hissa hain...

Saakshi : accha? You sure?

Arjun stared at her.

Saakshi : then let me do my job, plz...harr baat pe tokna bandh karo.

She took the file back and was about to get up while Rathod entered. his face was red in rage.

Saakshi : Sameer, yeh report dekho... mujhe newspaper office jaana hain.

Rathod : kahin nehi ja rahe ho, report ready karke hard copy messenger ke hatho send kardo. yahan baitho aur paperwork main help karo.

Saakshi: but I've to go... editor nehi hain station main...

Rathod : that's not my problem... stay in the office.. aur vi cases hain...handle the paperwork...( Sakshi tried to say somnething) and this is an order. Rawte...off to my cabin.

they left for Rathod's cabin, leaving Sakshi alone.

Sakshi : You guys are hiding something...but what is it?

Nadia was sitting in a dark corner of Blue Shadow, Joseph was sitting against her. She finishd her drink and signaled the waiter to bring more.

Joseph : So you're in?

Nadia : Let me think... you know circumstances are not good...we lost James... I'm sorry J... you trusted me and...

Joseph : Look... it was not your fault...they shot from behind...it could be you too.

Nadia : I understand... but they saw my face...

So what?'A voice interrupted from behind.

Nadia looked up to see the face. It was the owner of the club. He sat comfortably in the third empty chair.

Tiwari : I'm...

Nadia : Manish Tiwari...owner of this club... everybody knows you.

Tiwari ordered for a drink and looked at them. Nadia stood up.

Tiwari : Ms. Nadia...I've an offer for you.

Nadia : Thanks... but I can't accept your offer right now...it's very risky out here...and your place...by now it's full of UC police and informers...

Tiwari : look I know what you are thinking...Blue shadow has been a reputated club...and I tried my level best to keep it clean...

Nadia : Yeah...for the law enforcement only.

Tiwari : no...not only for them...but for my business too... (Nadia raised an eyebrow) look... they call it smuggling...may be you too...but I'm not a smuggler... I just run a club... and I ensure our customers comfort ... now if anyone brings bad things...what can I do? I can't upset my customers...

Nadia : Only customers?

Tiwari :yes, only customers...otherwise I had called police and informed them two from their wanted list is sitting here...but I didn't do it.

Nadia : I don't believe you...maybe you called them and then came here to keep us busy.

Tiwari : absolutely not...In fact... I have a deal for you... but if you don't sit and listen care fully...I can't discuss it na.

Nadia : I'm afraid I can't accept your offer.

Tiwari : (with a cheesy smile) but at least you can listen up...plz? (he signaled her to sit)

Nadia settled down and threw a questioning gaze to him.

Tiwari : look...since I've lost Celina, my business is at loss... she was a good singer... but unfortunately... you know...

Nadia : She was an informer and you have to wipe her off...

Tiwari : no no...It wasn't me... infact...I...I kind of liked her.

Nadia : so?

Tiwari : I need someone at her place...and I've seen you...you are good.so , if you join us...it'll be good for both of us.

Nadia : how?

Tiwari : like... I'll have an excellent lady in my entertainment team... and I'll take care of your private business...if you want...I cant invest some too...you know partnership...

Nadia : And what says that I'll accept your offer? your place is under ETF's watch... and I've just snatched twocaptives from them...do minute vi nehi lagega un logon ko, yahan se mujhe arrest karne main.

she couldn't finish her line and some people turned up surrounding them, pointing their fire arms towards them.

Leader : ETF!! you are under arrest!! don't even think about moving...if you do, we'll gonna target pactice on you.

Nadia : (whispered to Tiwari) you S@#$%^&! yeh sab tumhara chalaki tha!

Tiwari : (to the leader) Excuse me, officer! can I see your ID?

Leader : What? We've just arrested you.

Tiwari : are you sure? Do you have any warrent?

Leader : We don't need warrent... this lady (pointing at Nadia) had snatched two captives from ETF, injuring two of our officers...

Tiwari : What? are you sure?

Leader : yes!

Tiwari : but she was with me last night... in this very club... upstairs... and she have accepted to join the music team...

leader : that's a lie!

Tiwari : absolutely not, officer. that's why I've prepared the aggrement... look... ( he jestured his assistant to bring the file) and if you don't believe me, are the doorman, my assistant, my personal bartender even my partner... all are going to testyfy for her. She was here.

Leader : impossible! (to others ) go and ask everyone.

Tiwari : your officer was hit in his head na? maybe he has temporary brain disorder... I think you should take care of his treatment. I'm telling you...this lady was with me last night...and from now on she'll be here...on the stage. hain na, Miss Nadia?

Nadia : yes, Mr. Tiwari...It'll be an honour.

An officer came back and whispered to their leader's ear. he nodded and threw a fiery gaze towards them.

leader : For now, we're going... but remember...we'll keep a watch on you... next time...

he didn't finished his words and stormed off with his team.

Tiwari turned back to Nadia, with a winning smile on his face. Nadia narrowed her eyes.

Tiwari : So Ms. Nadia...you are coming from tomorrow. Come, let me introduce you to our musicians...

Nadia : (sternly) why you put me in this?

Tiwari : in what? I've just gave you a perfect job.

Aisha : how? You lied to ETF... police ka baap hain woh log... last time I had to hide myself... pura racket khatam ho gaya tha... aur kal toh main unke hathon ke neeche se qaydi chin ke laaya... Those officers saw my face... they can grab me in no time...

Tiwari : Are you done? Nothing will happen to you... now you are one of us.

Nadia : how? And suddenly why you are so kind to me?

Tiwari : As I mentioned before, business.We both are in sugar-business. You needs a supplies, and I need a dealer. That's it. And don't worry, Your security and necessity... both will be taken care of. Now Ms. , any more doubts?

Nadia : (forwared her right hand with a smirk) deal confirmed.

Tiwari shook hand with her, offering her his best cheesy smile.

Kabir was starring at the pieces of flesh, he felt his eyes were burning. Arjun came and put a hand on his shoulder.

Arjun : Don't worry... we'll find another way..

Chotu disturbed them.

Chotu : Sir, the area is clean.

Arjun : Go to the brothel and ask about this girl. Find out who was his last customer for this evening & Make a sketch of him.

Chotu : Ok, sir.

Liza : Sir, I'm taking the pieces to lab, I have to identify and seperate the bodies..

Arjun nodded.

Arjun : Sakshi..

Liza : Sakshi didn't came with me sir...she went out with Rathod sir...

Arjun frowned at that, she was ordered to stay inside the office. Then why Rathod take her with him! He nodded and signaled Liza to carry on and Asked Kabir to join him, but Kabir refused and accompanied chotu to the brothel. He have to find out why Jagga was killed like this.

Sakshi finished her meeting at the newspaper office and was about to exit the office premices, a man of his late 70s stopped her, by calling her from behind. She turned and rushed to him, excited.

Sakshi : Archive Dadu !! You, at this hour! Here? why didn't you call me...

A. Dadu : shhh!! Chup karr loudspeaker! Itnaa jor jor se bolgi toh ghar main jo behri buddi ko chor aayi na, woh bi nend se jag jayegi.

Sakshi : oh! Toh aap kyun jage hue ho?

A. Dadu : Mera toh kismat hi kharab hain, kya karun!! Listen, we don't have much time, here ( he handed her a small envelop)...you asked for it. But return it by tomorrow. If anybody comes to know about it...we both gonna be dead... got it?

Sakshi : ok Dadu...thanks a lot...

A. Dadu : Woh buttery thank you aapne pass rakh...kal time se return karr dena.

Sakshi : OK.

She hired a taxi and headed to Sonali's place. There's a lot to work on.

Morning. ETF lounge.

Sakshi was chatting with Aisha. While Rathod and Arjun reached there.

Aisha : Good morning, Sir!

They nodded to Aisha and glared at Sakshi.

Rathod : Where were you tomorrow?

Sakshi : At Sonali's place, why?

Rathod : You went out telling lie...you were not with me.

Sakshi : That was not a lie! We both was out at the same time.

Rathod : I didn't saw you!

Sakshi : So that's the problem of your eyesight. Not mine.

Arjun : Stop playing with words Sakshi... you just disobeyed an order... you...

Rathod : have any idea what the consquences would be?

Sakshi : look guys... I know I did something wrong, but I had reasons. Tum log aadhe baat pet main rakhke baat karoge toh kya karun...Aisha is working on this case, Liza is doing her bit... And you are not letting me do mine. Agar kaam saupke kaam hi nehi karne doge toh kaise hoga? I'm also a part of this team.

Arjun : Accha! Laagta toh nehi hain.

Sakshi : Jab kaam karne doge tab lagega na!

Arjun : Kaam? Baith ke faltu chapar chapar karne ke alawa aur kuch kia aaj tak?

Sakshi : Isi chapar chapar se bohot saare information nikalke le aati hoon...

Liza enturrupted the verbal match.

Liza : Sir!

Rawte-Rathod : WHAT!

Liza : (Startled) Woh..woh... I've seperated those pieces...total 72 tha...and they were cut clean...with something sharp...as if the killer has mastered anatomy... he is an expert.

Rathod : Weapon?

Liza : Buchar's knife!

A soft gasp made their head turn doorwards. It was Aisha.

Arjun : What happened?

Aisha : He...he... they were our informers na?

Rathod : Yes.but he?

Aisha : (Whispered) Rahim! (conscious) Where's Kabir?

Shree : Chotu & he are busy in investigation.

Aisha : It's not good... not at all!

She slumped on a chair, her face became pale.

Arjun : What happened?

Aisha : They are targetting us... our informers...oh god! How much they know?

Rathod : Don't worry... it'll be fine.

He placed his palm on her shoulder in assurance, she wiped her face nervously.

Kabir berged in with Chotu at his footsteps.

Kabir : What happened?

Aisha : Kabir!

Kabir : I know... now he'll come for me... but we'll be prepared, heh!

Aisha : (with blank expression) Hmm.

Kabir : (grinned) arre yaar, avi toh maza aayega iss khel main... aisi situations ka samna karne main jo thrill hain, usi ke liye we've joined the force, right? Janwar jitna khatarnak hota hain, uska shikar karne main utna hi maza aata hain...hain na?

Rathod : He's right, Aisha... but what's bothering you?

Aisha : Nothing... I'll be back soon.

She left. Rathod stared at her retreating back, worried. Liza broke his trance.

Liza : Sir... ek aur cheeze mila...uss aadmi ke stomach main...

Arjun : Was he poisoned?

Liza : nop...(she picked up a small evidence pouch)... this tiny thing... I think he swallowed it.

All were staring at the little black piece of plastic...Kabir's eyes flattered at recognition.

Kabir : It's a memory stick!! Jagga!!

Shree snatched it away from Liza, muttering "I'll look into it" before storming off to his station. Chikky couldn't bear the sudden jerk and started flying aimlessly inside the conference room.

Arjun : Liza...keep the door open for Mrs. Sen. And tell me the cause of death.

Liza : both were killed by frequent stabbing...but that man... he struggled more...maybe he faught to make an escape.

Kabir : that mean's... Rahim wasn't alone. It's not his style... his blows are clean and sharp...

Rathod : Matlab information nikalne ki koshes kii gayee...

Arjun : And Jagga gulped down the information. Sakshi...

Nobody responded... that girl flew away in between the commotion.

Rathod : Not again!!
