what this thread is about?

this thread is about donning your sphinx hat and riddling fellow potterheads 😆...its great fun...so far in this shared journey, participating potterheads have come up with amazing creative riddles and participating members have enjoyed cracking them...its a matter of great pride that we must have created 150+ riddles by now (browse through the links to previous threads provided above,and tuck in your feast 😛😉) ...riddles can be based on anything-under-the-harry-potter-umbrella...😊...Don't worry, to make things easy, you can begin by being on the recipient side(i.e. guessing the answers) and in no time we'll enchant you into a riddle-master...don't believe,huh? why not try it out, hey? :) 😊😊😊

just a quick note however:

1) this fun activity is about"your own creations" so kindly refrain from plagiarism(posting copied-riddles under your own creation , etc.)...We promote innovation.😊

2)Pls refrain from posting a new riddle when a riddle is already subsisting...

however, if majority of members have had a go at the answer and there is no sign of the riddle-maker , then in that case one can post a new riddle...and, if there is neither sign of the riddle maker nor the remaining members for a "reasonable period" of time, then in that case too one can go ahead to post a new riddle...such a gesture is respectful and courteous not only to riddle-makers but also to ourselves as human beings!

Friends are life, and friendship is living life joyfully...so far all participating members have shared a great bonhomie amongst them 🤗 (our crossing 600+ pages is a standing testimony to it), so kindly try maintaining the decorum and do nothing that would threat its integrity...😊

We also confer little awards to members for appreciation and further growth... 😊

They are categorised into three-

1) Pearl Jackpots on reaching 10 riddles in each Season.

2) Gold Jackpot on reaching 25 riddles aggregate.

3) Diamond Jackpot on reaching 50 riddles aggregate.

so, what are you waiting for?! 😃 bring in your quills and parchments..!!!

and a token of gratitude for JKR, without her charm this magical world of Harry Potter would not have been possible!!! :)

2) Please, Number your riddles.

3) Give a brief explanation to your ANSWER

4) Do not post a riddle when members are Still solving the previous riddle.

( You can post a new riddle if the previous riddle maker didnt show up for two days)

5) the Riddle maker should post the 'Post Link' in the same post of riddle and answer.

(It ll be very easy for the maker to find the link.

Just post the riddle and immeditely go to 'My post' And copy the last link in the thread. And Edit your riddle post.

First one to post the first riddle in season 5 !.. 😃 ⭐️

Riddle :

The first sight of it left the chosen one feeling resplendent,

Later on & even before, it served many purposes, so obviously its presence was constant.

Sometimes its purpose gave butterflies in tummy, while at others it made ravenous,

Sometimes its purpose gave sleepless nights, while at others it made languorous.

A host for many occasions,

Be it the culmination or the inception or even the celebrations.

But nothing matched its glory,

When it marked the end of the entire epic story.

ANSWER : " The Great Hall"

The first sight of it left the chosen one feeling resplendent, "Harry had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place."- From the first book about first impression of Harry.

Later on & even before, it served many purposes, so obviously its presence was constant. Self explanatory, The Great Hall was & is an integral part of The Hogwarts Castle & it served varied purposes..

Sometimes its purpose gave butterflies in tummy, while at others it made ravenous, It was used for sorting (hence butterflies in tummy, meaning nervous) & most of the times it was used to serve delicious mouth watering food to the students ( hence ravenous, meaning extremely hungry )

Sometimes its purpose gave sleepless nights, while at others it made languorous. It was used as an examination hall as well ( hence sleepless nights) & once it was used to provide a sleeping place for the Gryffindoor students as they were locked out of the Gryffindoor tower when Serius Black attacked the portrait of the Fat Lady (hence languorous,meaning sleepy or lazy)..

A host for many occasions,

Be it the culmination or the inception or even the celebrations. It is used to welcome Hogwarts students during the start of the term , it is also used at the end of the term as well as during special occasions like Christmas ..

But nothing matched its glory,

When it marked the end of the entire epic story. Voldy met his death in The Great Hall..
