Recap -

Jalal bursted on the hakim sahiba ,"You told us that She would be awake in the morning.. Now what.. She's not even budging in.. where is your treatment going? Do something, otherwise, the repercussions wont be good
I tell you".. He nearly cramped his fist in anger.

Hakim Sahiba once again repeated ,"Shahenshah..himmat rakhiye..Jodha Begum ki haalat thik hai..bas hum yeh keh rahe hain ki ye kehna mushkil hai ki unhe hosh kab tak ayega.. Humein lagta hai,
ke agar inka puri tarah se dhyan rakha jaye.. aur sahi aushdhi (medicine) dete jayein.. to ye jaldi hosh mei aa jayengi.."

Hamida Bano and Salima Begum were getting Hakim Sahiba's point. It was Jalal who was not able to bear this. After all, his beloved was lying almost lifelessly.. He wanted her all lively, speaking, smiling
in front of him right now.. but he was helpless...

He left the room immediately in anger and tears for he couldnt tolerate that painful sight.. it ate him up inside.. Hamida was tensed for Jalal.

Hamida asked Hakim Sahiba and Salima begum to sit beside Jodha and take care of her, as she would go and take care of Jalal.

Part 49 -

Jalal came outside his room and he was shattered. Jodha had not yet gained her conscious. The pale and whitish sight of her made him mad. He felt so helpless and his heart was sinking seeing her in that condition.

He walked past the corridors, the garden, the open darbaar, the Angoori Baag.. all lost in his own thoughts. Tears had not stopped flowing from his eyes.

One day ago, she was hale and hearty. Their life was perfect. He cursed himself for the condition of Jodha. As he gloomily walked and walked, soon he realised that he had come out of the palace.

Hameeda knew that Jalal was so broken that he could not be left alone. She sent Atgah Sahab and some soldiers after Jalal and asked them to take care of him.

Jalal was so grief-stricken that he didn't realise when he was out on the streets of Agra. The sight of Jodha's injured hand, her fainting, her low voice..all revolved in front of his eyes.
His head was throbbing with pain as he visualised her. Watching her in so much pain stabbed his heart.

As he walked further, he soon reached near jungle type area. Atgah Sahab and his men were following him, lest their Shahenshah might harm himself.
Suddenly a thorn on the forest ground pricked his feet and it was that moment when he came to his senses. He didnt even let out a cry with the physical pain of the pricking.

It was just that, he was brought to real world. He realised that he had come long way from palace and he was in a jungle sort of place. Suddenly, he comprehended that he was aware of this place.

His eyes gleamed with hopes as he finally concluded that Sheikh Salim Chishti Sahab's place was in this jungle. He could not believe his luck. He knew that if he took Chishti Sahab's blessings for Jodha,
She would definitely be well soon.

He wiped off the teary eyes and made his way towards his destination. He didnt even realise that the thorn was still stuck in his feet.

Atgah Sahab and his men were worried for the King but they also knew that, until Jalal is done with his work, he would not listen to anything.

Jalal reached to Salim Sahab's Ashram. As soon as he was in the vicinity of the great man, he felt his heart relaxing. He collected all his strength and made way towards him.

Salim Chishti Sahab was aware of his presence. As soon as Jalal came to him and sat in his feet, Salim Baba put his hand on Jalal's head and blessed him.

Jalal broke down in front of him. He joined both of his hands.

"Unhe bacha lijiye baba.. bacha lijiye unhe.. kis baat ki saza mil rahi hai unhe.. kyon unhe itna dard pahuch raha hai (he was choking with each word he spoke) Hum unhe itne dard mei nahi dekh sakte... Kyon humesha unhe itne dard se guzarna padta hai.. ab to vo maa bane wali hain..kya phir bhi Allah ko unpar taras nahi aaya jo unhe is haalat mei pahucha diya..hum unse be-intehaan mohabbat karte hain.. aur agar unhe kuch ho gaya to hum khud ko na to kabhi muaf kar payenge aur naa hi khudse kabhi nazar mila payenge.. (His tears were out again and
he was literally begging now.. Such was the power of love that made THE SHAHENSHAH beg for his beloved...)

Salim Baba caressed his head. He lifted him up by his shoulders.

"Shahenshah.. sambhaaliye khudko.. Hum achi tarah jaante hain ki pichle kuch waqt se bahut si pareshaaniyan aapke jeevan mei thin..lekin Shahenshah ab fikar ki koi baat nahi hai.. Bura waqt khatam ho chuka hai..
Acha waqt shuru ho chuka hai.. Aap dono ki mohabbat mei itni taaqat hai ke aap dono kisi bhi mushkil ka saamna kar sakte hain...Mariam-uz-Zamani bahut paak saaf aur bahadur hain.. vo is dard se bahut jald bahar aayengi.. Humara aashirwaad hai aap dono ke liye.. ki ab koi bhi taqleef nahi hogi..
Jaaiye Shahenshah.. Jodha Begum aapka intezaar kar rahi hain.. unhe aapki zarurat hai.. lekin jaate jaate ye paak dhaaga lekar jaiye (He handed over a divine thread to Jalal) aur isse Jodha Begum
ke haath par baandh dijiyega.. Allah taala aap dono par apni meher karein.."

Jalal was on cloud nine. His heart started beating normally. He felt as if someone had plunged life into him. Salim baba's words healed his agony and diminished his fears. His happiness couldn't be expressed in words.

His throat was clogging due to the immense happiness he had just received. He thanked Salim Baba with his moist eyes and took the celestial thread from him.

He took his blessings and made his way back to palace. Atgah Sahab and his men were so glad after witnessing the entire scenario. They raised their hands towards Allah and thanked him for his mercy and blessings.
They also made their way back to palace.

*Emperor's Room*

Hameeda Bano, Salima Begum and the Hakim Sahibas still sat by her side. Hakims were constantly noticing her condition. Her condition was better but ofcourse, nothing could be said about when she would regain
her consciousness.

She saw him coming towards her. He had a divine smile upon his face. But she could not ignore the teary eyes he carried. He reached upto her and hugged her. He was so happy because she was well.
She hugged him back too.

"Jodha ab bahut hua.. hum jaante hain tum thik ho..aur tum humari khunkhaar baaghin ho.. dekho hum tumse milne yahaan tak aa gaye hain..ab jaldi se humare saath chalo.. Ab hum tumhaare bina ek pal bhi
nahi guzaar sakte".. He whispered in her ears.

As he said that, Jodha's eyes rolled in her sleep. He was asking her to come back. She could not resist to her love. With much difficulty and a throbbing head, she opened her eyes.

The glee and delight of everyone present in the room knew no bounds when they saw their Mallika gaining her consciousness. They were so elated.

Jodha could see blurred faces. She could somehow make out who all were their near her but HE wasn't there. Her face shuddered.

Hakim Sahibaas checked her pulse and they were surprised to know that it was fully normal. Her condition was way better and now, she would be completely alright in a few days.

Jalal entered the room all breathless. He had almost rushed to palace. As soon as he entered the room, both of their eyes met like never before. Time came to a standstill. His breath was stuck.

Jodha's vision which was blurry, became all crystal-clear seeing him. Jalal's eyes started tearing up profusely as he saw her looking at him with love. His heart was beating faster. She was conscious.

Even before the Hakim Saahibas could give her the good news, Jalal said "Takhliya" even without looking at them, for his eyes were stuck at her.

Who would dare to go against the Shahenshah's order.. Hameeda and Salima left the room, followed by the Hakims.

He moved towards her slowly, very slowly. Both were quiet but their eyes were exchanging millions of things. Jodha gave him a feeble but genuine smile. She assured him that she was fine.

She could make out from his condition that neither did he sleep or eat, nor did he rest for a second. She was sad seeing him in such a state. She looked away from him.

Jalal reached upto her and sat beside her. His lone tear fell on Jodha's palm. Jodha was moved. He loved her so much that he did not care for himself.

Jodha looked at him lovingly.

Chahe kuch na kehna, Bhale chup tu rehna
Mujhe hai pata, tere pyaar ka
Khamosh chehra, aankhon pe pehra
khud hai gawah, tere pyaar ka

Teri jhuki nazar, Teri har ada
mujhe keh rahi hai ye daastan
koi shakhs hai jo ki in dinon
mere zehno dil mei cha gaya

He slowly touched her forehead and caressed it. As she looked in his eyes, he couldn't meet her eyes. His eyes were downcasted with guilt. He leaned down and slowly kissed her forehead.

"Shahenshah.." She whispered with difficuly.. As he heard her voice, his heart skipped a beat. He had longed for it. His happiness knew no bounds.
He immediately put his fingers on her lips. "Shh...chup chap leti rahiye Jodha.." he said. Jodha's body regained its liveliness as he touched her lips with his fingers.

Jab teri ungliyaan, Mujhko choo jaati hain
To kayi khwaab dil mei, jaga jaati hai
Itni berang bhi, to nahi zindagi
Har mulaqaat mujhse ye keh jaati hai

Teri hi baahon mein Panaahon mein
Rehna mujhe har dum sada
Teri hi yaadon mein Nigaahon mein
Rehna mujhe har dum sada

She closed her eyes in contentment. She was so happy to see his happiness. Jalal smiled at her. Jalal took out the divine thread and tied it carefully on her hand. He made sure that she was not hurt a bit.

He kissed her hand and palm. He wanted to jsut by her side forever.

He said ," Hum nahi bata sakte Jodha ki hum kitne khush hain.. Hum to dar hi gaye the.. Humari Jaan nikal gayi thi.. Shukr hai Allah ka ke aapko hosh aa gaya .."..

Jodha said with a sigh (and her eyes closed) ," Dar kis baat ka Shahenshah.. Jab humare Pati humse itna prem karte hain..to humein koi chot kaise pahucha sakta hai.. Lekin hum aapse bahut naaraz hain.."

Jalal looked at her confusingly and Jodha opened her eyes to look at him.. She made a fake angry face.. and said ," Ye kya haalat bana li hai aapne.. kya khud ka zara sa bhi khayal nahi hai aapko?"..

Jalal looked at her lovingly and with tears. Jodha tried to get up as she was tired of lying down. Jalal understood this and he supported her by her shoulders, in getting up.

They were in very close proximity of each other. As Jalal tried to help her in sitting, Jodha hugged him. She clutched and covered his back. She didnt want to let him go away from her.

Jalal smiled at his Rajput firebrand. She was so innocent. He hugged her with same passion.

Now Jodha could not control her feelings. She sobbed in his arms.

" Hum kal bahut dar gaye the Shahenshah.. Kahin aapko kuch ho jaata to.. isliye hum aapke liye prarthna kar rahe the.. lekin humein nahi pata tha ke Ruqaiya begum aisa kuch bhi kar sakti thin..
Aap jaise hi aaye..humari jaan mei jaan aa gayi Shahenshah.. Aapko sahi salamat dekhkar humein shaanti mili.. Lekin..Humein vishwaas nahi hota ke Ruqaiya begum ne itna bada aur ghinona kaam kiya.."

She tried to seek comfort in his manly arms. Jalal knew all her fears and pains. He took her tightly in his embrace and consoled her.

" Humein sab pata hai Jodha.. Tum fikar mat karo.. Sab thik ho jayega.. Jisne sangeen jurm kiya hai..usse to saza milkar hi rahegi.. lekin humare liye sabse zyada zaruri tum ho.. Agar tumhe kuch ho jata to hum apne aap ko kabhi muaf nahi kar paate.."

Jodha broke the hug and shushed him.

"Shahenshah hum bilkul theek hain.. ab aap apne aapko kosna band kijiye.." and she hugged him again.

Jalal embraced her lovingly. His happiness knew no bounds. He ran his one hand around her lower back and took her in close embrace. Both of them were enjoying their love.
