Elvish Yadav, winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, has reportedly received a death threat along with an extortion demand of Rs 10 crore. According to reports, the alleged threat has been linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
As per information shared in the police complaint, Elvish allegedly received a WhatsApp call from an international number on May 5. Reports claimed that although no direct conversation took place during the call, a threatening message was later sent from the same number.
The sender allegedly identified himself as Randeep Malik and claimed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message reportedly demanded Rs 10 crore and warned that the amount had to be arranged within two days.
According to reports, the threat message also contained a warning directed at Elvish and his father. It allegedly stated that both would be killed if the money was not delivered within the given deadline. Reports further claimed that a similar threatening message was also sent to his father’s phone number.
Following the incident, Elvish reportedly approached officials at Sector 56 Police Station and informed them about the matter. Based on the complaint, police have now registered an FIR against an unidentified individual under relevant sections. Authorities are reportedly investigating the source of the messages and the number used in the alleged threat.
The development comes shortly after Elvish received relief from the Supreme Court in a separate legal case connected to alleged snake venom use and smuggling. Last month, the apex court reportedly quashed criminal proceedings initiated against him in the matter.
A bench comprising Justices MM Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh reportedly observed procedural lapses in the filing process and stated that the proceedings could not continue legally.
Earlier, Elvish had challenged the chargesheet and summons issued in the case after the Allahabad High Court dismissed his plea in May last year, stating that the allegations required deeper legal examination due to multiple FIRs linked to the matter.
