Suryakumar Yadav introduces ‘biggest blessing’ as fans react to daughter’s name

Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty have revealed the name of their newborn daughter through a social media post. The couple recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl, reportedly on May 7.

Suryakumar took to Instagram and shared an unseen picture from the hospital featuring Devisha and their daughter. In the background, a balloon decoration reading “Welcome, it’s a girl” could also be spotted. Along with the photograph, the cricketer introduced his daughter to fans and followers.

In the caption, Suryakumar wrote, “Introducing our biggest blessing RIDDHIMA.” The post quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans and fellow cricketers flooding the comments section with congratulatory wishes for the couple.

Several users reacted positively to the baby’s name and shared messages for the family online. Many fans also referred to the child as “ghar ki laxmi” while congratulating the couple on becoming parents.

Before the announcement, reports had suggested that Suryakumar stayed back briefly from Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2026 travel schedule because of family commitments surrounding the birth of his daughter. However, the cricketer later joined the squad in Raipur ahead of Mumbai Indians’ clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Recently, videos of Suryakumar distributing sweets to paparazzi at the Mumbai airport also surfaced online. In one clip, the batter was seen handing sweet boxes to photographers while saying, “Yeh aap log please khana.” The gesture received positive reactions from fans on social media.

The Mumbai Indians batter had earlier announced the birth of his daughter with a short message that read, “With giggles, bows, and dreams to unfurl, we welcome our baby girl.”

The couple had largely kept the pregnancy private. However, videos from their intimate baby shower celebration had earlier circulated online among fan pages and cricket related social media accounts. Suryakumar is currently balancing IPL commitments while also spending time with his family after becoming a father.
