For a couple of days i have been thinking about Bijoy's slap and how it changed the equations. I feel there is a lot of similarity between Bijoy getting slapped to Ishwari getting slapped in FB.

Ishwari on seeing Dev play cricket, broke a vase. She knew that the owner of the house would insult her, but she did not know for a fact that she would get slapped. But seeing the slap caused Dev to question his happiness. i.e. he wanted his mom to answer back. But Ishwari told him that she cannot answer as their status was lower than their owners. Hence implored him to focus on his studies there by giving them a place in society where the society wouldn't dare to insult them. She used the slap to inspire Dev to focus on what she wanted him to do as opposed to his happiness. She also made it seem like he was the reason for her getting insulted. By doing so she was able to change the need for studying as his own choice rather than her wish. Sam had written a detailed post on this some time ago(sorry don't remember when 😊).

I feel this is very similar to Bijoy getting slapped. Before even that had happened Bijoy had a strong desire to remove Sonakshi from IN and break her relationship with Dev. He thought Dev was a bad guy who acted like a good guy. He felt like he was the only one seeing Dev's true face and wanted everyone to see it. In that scene, even though Asha tried to stop him, he didn't. He kept continuing with his insinuations. He did not know that Dev would slap him, but he definitely wanted Sonakshi to see how the Dixits saw them as.

The same way studying and focusing on getting rich became Dev's own wish following Ishwari's slap, leaving Dev and breaking up with him became Sonakshi's own decision after Bijoy got slapped. She started Dev as the bad guy who wanted to insult her and her family. She lost the trust in him and believed that his love was a farce. This was what she said when she confronted Dev and Asha following the jewelry theft truth.

Only when she was confronted with the actual truth in IN with the information she got from maamaji and Elena, she realized what had happened. That is the reason she was able to accept her mistake that if Dev left her, so did she.

The way I see Dev and Sonakshi now is both of them are traversing from opposite side of their marriage phase. While Dev has started from the beginning of their marriage by saying I should have stood by you from the time I married you, Sonakshi is backtracking from the separation saying I should have trusted you and not doubt that you were out to harm my family. This in no way means that they have patched up, it just means that they have started the process.

Similarly it is very necessary for Dev to show the guilt he displayed yesterday. His crying definitely does not mean that he is back to considering Ishwari god. When Ishwari comes back Dev is not only going to reveal the truth to her, but will tell her how he feels responsible for it. It is Ishwari who made him feel guilty for everything that happened with their family and it is only her who can release him. After he tells the truth to her, the more he tries to be nice and give her the happiness he feels she deserves, the more Ishwari will shy away from it. Even if Dev offers her, her pedestal back, Ishwari will no longer be able to climb it. Dev's every act of goodness will have a reverse effect on Ishwari forcing her to regret her actions which she has not done till now. Ishwari till now has not felt guilty of her actions towards Dev, but with this changed dynamics she will be immersed in guilt.

I am really loving the way the CVs are bringing the much needed realization in all the 3 leads. 😃

Dev's scenes yesterday in Ishwari's room were a treat and I understand not everyone feels that way. He did not take the blame of theft on himself. He said he fell short of being a good son because his mother must have suffered alone with the guilt of theft. The most beautiful lines for me were when he said that imaan and khuddari were paramount for his mother and she compromised on those to be able to provide to her children. I cried with Dev for his mother's pain. He felt sorry for assuming that all was well in his mother's life. As much as ishwari has damaged her son's married life, she gave him a fighting chance in life. Recall, he felt the same when Ishwari fell sick in the first few episodes. I have said this time again... In the last 7 years, more than ever, Dev & Sonakshi haven't been good kids to their mother and father respectively. They hid their love in that unreachable corner of their hearts but in that process also became unreachable to those people who heavily relied on them for emotional support. I can see why Dev feels the way he does.

Like many of you said, Dev ties his happiness with others' happiness and is very happy to take the blame on himself. I am sorry is tattooed on his forehead. However, I think Sonakshi is going to help him heal now. She is encouraging him to face those demons. Dev and Sonakshi are back to that day after Neha's vidai where Sonakshi offered herself to Dev as a healer. Dev needs to accept that he can't be the perfect provider he set himself out to be. But, he gave it his all... and that is what counts.

Recall that scene when Dev was feeding paranthas to Sonakshi in S1. Sonakshi said, don't fight my battles for me... strengthen me and let me fight my own battles. She is doing exactly that for Dev now.

PS: I want to write about Sonakshi as soon as I can...

The way I look at the current episodes, they had a staffing issue.. One of acute nature. I would say 3 out of their 5 leads (dev, ishwari,soha, sona and golu) were missing. The makers still took the story forward. We still don't know what is happening with Supriya (I wish her and her family well). Not trying to be patronising or condescending at all.

We saw Sona's realisation already (with Dev's photo). I think some scenes with Dev's realisation were missing.

They have been building this up since post leap in small increments... Like the jewellery theft/snake incident/Asha talking to Sona about trust etc

PS: some very interesting conversations going on here. I shall join in as soon as possible

Yes they had staffing issue no doubt..but apparently this has never affected them in past..though yes so many actors havent been missing together in past..so I give that to cvs ..inspite of having main characters missing they managed to keep the audience gripped in a way..as everyone was quite excited to know Khatri truth

But my issue was as soon as Shaheer came back they just instantly changed the gear and whoop..everything sorted..that feel and hiccup was odd for me

Oh yes as per what I have read Supriya ji will be joining back in 1st week of may..so finally we will have Ishwari back YAYY I am excited

Well coming to Sonakshi's realization I had very different hopes from track post that photo talking scene of Sonakshi ..things moving in a very intense emotional way..but it turned out to be her realization which I actually realized in Wednesday's episode..I probably completely failed to take the hint from that convo..so it disappointed me a bit more then others probably

And about Dev's realization..woh toh I dont know..when it actually happened..probably in matter of seconds..some magic happened for him may be sighh

The build up was not enough according to me DQ..They could have added some monologues or some self introspecting scenes which would have justified their thinking and maturity and would have given a better connect

This realization was THE most important part of the story and it was not up to mark :( sighh

I am not hoping anything as of now..better to take it episode by episode :)

Sonakshi has started to realise, that there was so much unclear communication between herself and Dev. Dev is very used to ambiguity and that is why because his intentions were always to do good, everything was a molehill and very routine for him. Sonakshi wasn't used to this. She tripped on this many times... From vrats, cooking for dadibua to prenup and Soha

So she realises that had she trusted Dev and believed that he would never ever throw her out of his life, things would have been different. (When she went in the jungle with Dev and said had he given her the same rights as Soha...) . She didnt have to wait for that haq.. she should have believed its hers. She had access to Dev's deepest feelings.. even Ishwari didn't have access to that part of his life.

In fact this was my problem with Sonakshi so long.. Why isnt she confident enough to demand her rights on Dev? I wish she knew Dev was a puppy in her aura...

Soha is changing that. Because Soha is quite the opposite. She is so confident in Dev's abilities... (mahua, this perfect raga is a reflection of the same).. Soha just demands that her mom and dad deliver. And guess what, they do!!!

@bold blue. Mahua, the realization is not upto the mark as it is not complete. When the separation happened 7 years ago, all three of them (Dev, ishwari and Sonakshi) started moving in opposite directions to each other. Imagine a graph sheet where these 3 are on the 3 quadrants and the arrow is pointing away from each other. That is how these 3 were. But with this weeks episode all it happened is Dev and Sonakshi have stopped on the spot. All they did was do a 180 degree turn and look at each other that is all and nothing more than that. Till now they did not want to look at each other, but now they have started to bring each other in their line of vision. They had thought that Suhana was their happiness alone and saw her in front of them by themselves. But now they are placing her in the center of both their line.

I wish I could draw graphs here to what what I wanted to convey. 😆 . It will become easier to imagine them as the 3 dots in the 3 quadrants of the graph. Dev and Sonakshi now place Suhana in the center of that graph i.e. @ 0 (zero). When Ishwari comes back she will also place her at zero. She is not their individual happiness but collective happiness. That is what they realized this week.

This in no way means that everything is fine and forgotten or forgiven. It just means that they are now ready to review the forgotten and analyze it, think through it. They are now more open to talk about what went wrong and where they failed. There is still a lot to happen before they can reach Soha the middle point. 😃

To your point Shaavi, I too can see them time travelling and working through various emotions and situations. Sonakshi is working her way backwards from the separation day. And she literally walked to the farmhouse but to be able to reach the farmhouse, she first had to visit all those places that Dev took her to on the day of confession. Those places are very sacred to devakshi. To continue what I said in my post above, Dev gave Sona access to the deepest corners of his heart. Sonakshi needs to traverse those feelings and work her way backwards to that point in time when Dev confessed his love for her. Then she will realise she needs to trust Dev because he trusted her with all his vulnerabilities.

Dev on the other hand has started to realise that even though he gave Sonakshi access to his deep rooted feelings, what she needed was someone who had her back. Sonakshi is a warrior princess. Just like his own mother. He has now started to realise that he made a lot of assumptions about his wife and his mother. He often chose the easy way out to deal with feelings. Leave for work at 7 am.. leave for work is Sonakshi is upset.. and this time he just went and starting drinking alcohol so that he doesnt have to face his lover with someone else. He has started to realise that this approach does so much collateral damage.. this time it was his relationship with Soha. So Dev needs to understand that he cannot be perfect and that, that does not allow him to hide from his loved ones.
