Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut attended the prayer meet of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra in New Delhi on December 11. She was seen offering a floral tribute and greeting Hema Malini along with her daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Kangana also spoke to reporters about Dharmendra’s legacy and the inspiration he provided to many in the film industry.

As reported by ANI, Kangana said, “Dharam ji came from a small village, just like me, and tasted the peak of success. Seeing him always reminded me of the fragrance of the village, of the soil there. He was so grounded and a really simple person...It is an hour of grief.”

She further added, “So, it is a very sad time, and we feel even more saddened to see Hema ji. We stand with her in this pain, and she is an important part of the BJP. The entire BJP family is with her. The Prime Minister and all of us are with her… Meri bahut yaadein hai ki vo kehte the Kangana bahut acha kaam kar rahi ho..tum bahut acha fight karti ho apni baaton ko lekar..apne hak ke liye.”

Kangana’s words reflected both personal admiration and a sense of solidarity during the family’s time of grief. She recalled Dharmendra’s encouragement, noting how he had praised her efforts in cinema and her outspoken nature on issues she cared about.

Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, enjoyed a career spanning over six decades. He delivered memorable performances in films such as Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, Charas, and Dharam Veer. His work continues to influence generations of actors, including those admired for their discipline and screen presence, such as Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar.

Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearance will be in the war drama Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda. The film is highly anticipated as the last cinematic tribute to one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated stars.

At the prayer meet, Kangana’s tribute captured the mix of emotion, respect, and remembrance that has defined the nation’s mourning of Dharmendra’s passing.
