Emraan Hashmi's latest release Raja Natwarlal opened on the duller side despite heavy promotions by the actor prior to the film's release.

The film, introducing Pakistani actress Humaima Malick to Bollywood, opened to a lukewarm response at theatres despite Friday being an off in some states on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.

As per trade figures, the film's opening day collection stands at Rs. 6.10 crore net at India box office. The occupancy is in the range of 25 percent to 30 percent.

Overseas, the film did much better in UAE than the UK.

Reports about the film have been mixed. Some critics have labeled the film as an entertainer while others have panned it as a caper low on IQ.

Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji's film Mardaani rounded off its first week at theatres with Rs. 23 crore collection. The film has made an impact nationwide and Rani has won a lot of accolade for her performance.

The coming week will see the release of Mary Kom starring Priyanka Chopra.

Raja Natwarlal has fared poorly as it showed a big drop on Saturday. The collections fell badly all over and the film is one of the biggest flops of the year The approx first two days business is as follows

The weekend will struggle to reach the 14 crore nett mark as Sunday will be at best in the same range as day one..

Emraan Hashmi's latest release 'Raja Natwarlal' has failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.

Despite favourable reviews, Emraan Hashmi-starrer "Raja Natwarlal" has failed to excite the moviegoers and it has impacted its box office collection. In two days, the crime-comedy could rake in just about Rs.11 crore.

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs.35 crore, the UTV Motion Pictures' project hit about 2,000 screens in the country Friday.

"It has earned Rs.11 crore in the first two days. It is quite low. It should cross Rs.20 crore in a week," Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS.

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Emraan Hashmi's chemistry with his co-star and Pakistani actress Humaima Malick in the film has been criticised too.

"The drama in #RajaNatwarlal is entertaining, but the romance and music are weak. Film doesn't appeal," trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted.

Another reviewer wrote: "In 'Raja Natwarlal', a con caper with a lot going for it at least on paper, Emraan has little to do that could catapult him to the next level of his career."

Emraan Hashmi was joined by seasoned actor Paresh Rawal and talented Kay Kay Menon in the cast, but they couldn't do enough to elevate the film.

"Identity Card - Ek lifeline" by Rahat Kazmi and "Trip to Bhangarh" directed by Jitendra Pawar also released Friday, but the two films collected "negligible figures" at the ticket window, says Thadani.

Raja Natwarlal had a poor weekend all over as the film started low on Friday and a big drop on Saturday which sealed its fate. the collections on Sunday were better but it was irrelevant. The approx weekend daily business is as follows

Sunday - 5,00,00,000

TOTAL - 13,80,00,000


The weekend business of Raja Natwarlal was lower tha films like Hate Story 2, Yaariyan and Hasee Toh Phasee which were smaller films released on a lower number of screens.

Bahut buri tarah se flop hui guruji ki movie ... 😒
