Well... already Vash was a very well made Gujarati movie (and so successful that Ajay Devgn remade it as Shaitaan with the same leading actress - personally I largely prefer the original).
The director cum writer made a true sequal to Vash - with the same actors as father, obsessed daughter and magician (this time already releasing a version dubbed in Hindi - so no Hindi remake needed )...I certainly will try to watch it after its theatrical run... especially as the father seeks the 'powerless' magician's help...
Vash level 2 is dubbed in Hindi too.. Regional cinema is growing
Why will people watch Shaitaan 2 in Multiplex (after Ajay D has procured rights of this sequel )?
Anyways, since a year, no further announcement had been made by Vikas Bahl/Ajay (afaIk), although Bahl had told the press at that time: "Part 2 is also ready in our minds."
Good move to release a Hindi dubbed version also. All the best to Krishnadev & team
Saw the film .Its watchable in parts.Actually have not seen the first part but I was able to follow the story easily because I have seen its Hindi remake Shaitaan! The stakes are much higher this time because as opposed to first part where only 1 girl was involved ,there are multiple girls who are under the influence of evil force.
The film starts on a gripping note. The entire episode in the school is shocking to say the least. It sent a chill down the spine. The first 40 minutes are so engaging that it left me tongue tied .The production values are quite good too.The interval point raised the expectations of a better second half.
The film unfortunately slips a bit in the post interval portions. The fear factor wear downs considerably because it seems to venture into the predictable route.Janaki who played the lead role in the first part has a shorter screen time. But she still manages to shine in her part .Her pain of being under the influence of an evil force for 12 years comes across so effectively.
The suspense also works quite well. The connection between the two evils (from the first part and the sequel) is pretty convincing which is why the film feels like a proper sequel. However the ending could have been better. It is rather too convenient and the film ends too abruptly. The ending is not entirely satisfying here!
But overall it remains a watchable fare.
3/5
Wait so i just watched the trailer, never watched the original. So is Shaitaan remake of this one?
Go figuree..since Shaitaan was actually good, while Maa was a total disaster.
Devgn might hire kajol for shaitaan 2
Yes, Shaitaan was a remake of the Gujarat movie Vash (with some minor changes I personally didn't like).
Shaitaan 2 got talked about a year ago, but - imo - it would be a waste of money to now make a Shaitaan 2 when Vash Level 2 is available in a Hindi dubbed version.

They can make Shaitaan 2 with a brand new story .It does not have to be the remake of Vash Level 2!
