Pre leap she was fine. I don't know what has got into her post leap. But then when I watched the post leap first episode and was shocked what has become of her, I remembered how she followed Arjun to bachelor party in that bar which was the first time I found Maya obsessed, creepy and unhealthy. So she was always like that, just that Cvs never showed her that way before because I guess for most part she didn't have reason to, and she had mellowed down a lot after marriage until the leap. Idk why she has become this way in these three years.
But people here disapproved of her from the beginning so they have disliked her pre leap even when she was okay. Some might think she's manipulative and all, but for me she was normal and just sometimes weird and crazy. I have dealt with way more manupulative people, not because someone has done anything wrong to them for them to behave this way or they have grown up in toxic homes or anything, but they just want to have all. And I still have such people. Maya in comparison to others come across as the righteous one. The good ones around me are like Maya minus her usual hurting herself, breaking the glass and what not lol. That's how most people are. Either like Maya who are justified in how they behave or the opposite way where people also manipulate and everything but without anyone doing them any wrong or having any reasons to. Other than these majority, few are completely white and black. But most are in the middle like i mentioned. May be others have different experience, but that's how mine are.
So I will love to have her around me. As for the post leap Maya, she has completely lost touch with the reality and gone insane. I feel bad for her because any person with common sense can see she has mental issues. I would hate to have a partner like Maya who keeps tabs on me. God, I hate people even asking me where I am going or what I did today. But I definitely wouldn't abuse the person when it's obvious the other person is sick and needs help. Doesn't matter whether if one loves the person or not, any decent human wouldn't do that. That's so so low to abuse mentally ill people which is why I don't get how can Arjun stoop so low to abuse her when he actually claims to love her even? I get he's frustrated, suffocated and all, I would be too. But physically abuse the person? That's just wrong and doesn't even make sense. But then Arjun's character was never of that mature person. He was always immature, but still he wasn't abusive. So the Cvs have just put that for drama and creating sympathy for Maya or at least make both equally being wrong. They always do that. No matter what they show Maya doing wrong or anything, they will show the other person as irritating and wrong on some level so even if the audience think Maya is at fault, still the other is not innocent either. Trp audience hate female lead going against the male lead after marriage. So even to show her obsession, they have made tolerate Maya even physical abuse in the name of love and obsession and have made Arjun not so innocent. If we see both are not like typical leads we see in shows. In other shows no matter how bad the male lead is, he is never shown to be hating and abusing female to this extent or the female going after male lead like here. So they have basically made both different than how usually other leads act while still making Maya tolerating all abuse for trps I guess.
God, this has become such a long post. My posts become such long essays usually :/
