Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan arrived together at the prayer meet of legendary actor Dharmendra in Mumbai on November 27. The event, described as a “Celebration of Life,” drew numerous Bollywood stars, family members, and close friends to honour the late actor, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89.

Bobby Deol, Dharmendra’s son, appeared visibly emotional as he arrived. Earlier in the day, Sidharth Malhotra and Abhay Deol also visited the venue to pay their respects. The invite circulating online clearly framed the event as a “Celebration of Life” rather than a traditional prayer meet. It mentioned the actor’s birth and death dates, along with the venue and timings from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Reports confirmed that singer Sonu Nigam would perform some of Dharmendra’s timeless songs to celebrate his legacy.
Dharmendra’s passing marked the end of an era in Indian cinema. The actor, affectionately known as Bollywood’s He-Man, had been battling age-related health issues and was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on November 10 after experiencing breathlessness. He was discharged two days later and continued treatment at his Juhu residence, but his health declined, and he passed away on November 24.
His funeral was conducted at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Dharmendra is survived by his family, including his first wife Prakash Kaur and their children Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, and Ajeita, as well as his second wife, actress Hema Malini, and their children Esha and Ahana Deol.
On the day of the cremation, Abhishek Bachchan arrived alongside his father, Amitabh Bachchan, followed by Salman Khan. Megastar Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were also present to bid the actor a final farewell.
The prayer meet on November 27 continued to draw attention as celebrities and fans gathered to honour Dharmendra’s contribution to Indian cinema, remembering his decades-long career, his iconic roles, and his enduring influence on generations of actors and audiences alike.
