Dear LTLians one and all 😃

Often I have wondered whether Roops could have been a more positive character if she was away from the evil dark shadow of the warped Kalawati? How would Madhu have shaped up if she had Kala poisoning her mind against Dutta since childhood?

For me, the similarities between Roops and Madhus end with fact that they both were Dutta's younger (half/cousin)*edit sister . Also, both these characters had scope for further development by the cvs.

Whose character do you find more interesting-Roopwati or Madhu Damodar Patil?

btw lil correction...madhu isnt dutta's step sis...she's his half sis...and roops isnt step sis either...she's his cousin-sister...

2bh i feel it wudnt b too fair 2 compare the 2...as madhu wasnt given a proper chance 2 develop while roops did...so comparisons wud b difficult...bt the fact tht madhu was an out and out positive character i wud say madhu...but having sed tht i reali wud hav been happy 2 c her character mre developed n powerful...i feel it wud hav been interesting 2 c her as a positive yet dominant n powerful character...afterall she was the daughter of DP and sis of DSP...both of whom wer dons...i wud hav liked 2 c mre traits of thm in her...in DN eternal thread we do end up seeing sum mre traits of hers being v similar 2 dutta yet i reali wished her character was mre powerful...

talkin of roops i didnt quite understand hers/leela's reasons 4 disliking dutta 2 the extent tht they wer happy 2 c him suffer...i mean kala.. i understood, becos kala knew tht DP has killed her dad thts y she hated dutta bt this truth was hidden 4rm leela-roops so i didnt quite understand their reasons...greed alone jus wasnt enuf 2 explain y they were celebrating with wine wen he was in another room suffering in pain...

nice post ivy , also agree with yuvika here, about the two characters here first roops, when they showed her being drunk and b4 baji came up she was going over her childhood stuff thinking how dutta put his sisters happiness 4 even his immidiate needs, and gave their happiness presidense over himself, thn why and what made them both leela and roops turn so evil towards him. didn't make sense.

Madhu a london rturn girl, welcomed by AS and nakku, although sweet and caring she should have realised the trio were to blame for a lot of goings on in the house. the connection she made with baji and nakku should have helped get closer to dutta. in my opinion she should have got more vigilant and allerted dutta against his sisters.

I chose Madhu. Roops annoyed me usually with her behavior. If she was a better person then it would've been different, I guess. Madhu seemed a bit more sensible and responsible to me. She could still be fun and innocent but not a lost case like Roops who always practiced whatever Kala Tai preached...until the very end that is.

If we keep from scratching one another and pulling our hair out, why can't we have a comparison topic on two characters? I think we're mature enough to deal with disagreements so, hope it's going to be allowed. 👍🏼

I vote for Madhu ...She was a far better person than Roops .

Roops was mean ...ok ! Fine she brainwashed by ...But what ever she did was not good ...I remember how she terrorized Sethji ...

While Madhu ...had a short role but a clean one ...no negative steaks ...

Though I found both their one liners or word irritating ...be it So cute- na or Moomma

Roops every damn thing sd ...So Cute-na as if she did not know any other adjectives ...

Madhu sd Moommma ...Like a cow Moooing ..

Both roles and character were under developed and not used to full extent ...

@ Yuvika ...we are not comparing two actors but two fictional characters ...nd the comparing is without any bashing and clean ...

without any doubt madhu ...even though her character was not well defined still it was a pleasure to see at least one sister of dutta supporting him and nakku

@ yuvi ..we are not comparing actors here but the characters and i think our discussions are always healthy so nobody should mind that 😊

Voted for Madhu undoubtedly,

Cause she was a breath of fresh air as there was already too much negativity in PN for dutta n Naku to deal with. She from the very first moment was clued in and most importantly luved her half brother for what he was without any prejudices or preconceived notions. Tried her best to get in his good books n also was the only confidante to naku to offload or share her miseries. She genuinely had some feelings for baji too. Unfortunately, dutta took too long n too little to reciprocate n baaji too wasnt sure of her. Only AS n Naku understood n welcomed her.

But as all are aware the character was introduced n continued without due thought n was mostly directionless.

Never liked Roops for obvious reasons but did provide some comic relief with baji
