Seeing the present status of Indian music industry which is searching for a different male voice.

Please say whom do u personally feel will be successful in future

Just your personal feeling.

I feel if its an alrounder voice they look for then Aneek has a better future though Sonu factor may come into his way.Musarrat may find a good future too in the music industry with his sufiana singing. I personally find him better than Kailash. Sumedha if do both acting and singing then maybe she would end up into an actress. Poonam can actually be the surprise factor here. she is probably the unique one among the rest.

Great post, Anu!! 👏

According to me all the singers are technically strong at this point in the show..

I have seen some excellent remarks on each singer by many of u musical experts in this forum, and I agree with most of you, so my views might sound repetitive, but here's my Critical point of view--

Amanat : He is technically very strong, and sings with ease..sometimes his diction is not very clear. In fast numbers his voice lacks the energy and power..also I feel he concentrates on the sur, taal etc. i.e. the technical aspects and so sometimes the feel/mood of the song is lacking..he is great in soft songs..

Aneek : Again, technically sound, like Anu pointed out, has a breath-control problem. Voice quality not mature or powerful enough, quite a common voice too..Sings the songs with great ease. He has proven his talent in soft songs as well as fast numbers.

Sumedha : Excellent voice quality, clear pronounciation, in high notes her sur becomes a bit delicate (not lately, she has improved a lot on that now, so its almost never heard anymore)..she brings good feel to the song..she brings a great flow to the song which is mesmerizing.

Poonam : Very powerful voice, clear diction, technically very strong. She abruptly ends the lines and does'nt give it a good flow or finishing..like Tanaz rightly pointed out, her notes tend to become detatched..she has to work on that. I need to hear a softer song from her to judge if she can mellow down her tone a little bit, bcos I don't remember having heard a soft number from her. Please remind me if she already has.

Raja : Powerful voice, good throw, strong classical base, technically sound-which is proven by his own additions to the original version, high-notes is his strong point. By continuously practicing and performing high pitched songs his voice has strained a lot which is clearly visible in recent performances. His voice quality is unique, which could also pose as a drawback for him, bcos it filters down the number of songs that suit his voice to a great extent.

yeah she sang meri sanso ko jo from Badalte Rishte! and she sang it beautifully!

SUMEDHA.

Positive:
Has a wonderful resonance in her voice. If you press down the damper pedal and play the piano, you will understand that Sumedha's voice has the same sort of effect. The beauty of it is that she does not need studio-editing equipment to produce such a resonance, which is why mentors keep harping about how great she would sound in recording.

Negative:
She tends to go nasal at times, so she needs to be careful about that. Her notes also need careful monitoring so that she doesn't go off-sur.

RAJA.

Positive:
When it comes to high range singing, no one can beat this guy. He also has strong control over his vocals and adds little ornaments here and there with ease.

Negative:
He's straining himself too much with these high-range songs, which is why he sounds tired at times. He also needs practice to perform softer songs with ease. I think that if he's given a year or so to practice bringing softness to his voice, he will be able to do those songs as well.

ANEEK.

Positive: Nice, clean voice. He sings difficult songs with an unusual ease.

Negative: He needs to work on his English diction. His rapping was not up to the mark.

AMANAT.

Positive: Another great technical singer. He has the voice of a Ghazal singer - delicate with a hint of sadness.

Negative: While technically he is very sound, when it comes to songs other than ghazals/semi-classical, he is unable to do justice. He often lacks the feel or energy required for those songs and frankly speaking, they are not as memorable as "Yeh Honsla" from Dor.

POONAM:

Positive: Very very strong vocals. Also she has a different and refreshing voice.

Negative: She has to really learn how to do "legato singing" or smooth singing. Her notes tend to become detatched, which is great when you have songs like Vande Mataram from Anandmath, but very bad when you have a romantic song which requires more flow and sweetness.

I noticed the same problem again when she sang "Jhooth bole kauwa kaate" - her singing was very detached.

careful observation and a great analysis - thought provoking. Kudos.

Thanks Riam for reminding me! 😊 How cud I forget, she indeed sang that song beautifully..ofcourse I did notice that abrupt ending of lines in that too, but inspite of that her rendition was very good..

Aneek and Amanat, both are the strongest contenders in the show. In my opinion, Aneek adds more feel to the song than Amanat so i will pick Aneek over Amanat. Otherwise they are equally good and deserving.

I think all of the top5 have a great technical aspect..as I'm not a very big technical music person I don't know most stuff. but I do admit that all 5 singers have their little flaws and amazing aspects of their singing 👏

Kind of Poonam and Raja not common in talent hunt shows. Others are very common!

👏 One of the most well discussed topics in this forum. My opinion is that technically all are good - but yes, Aneek & Amanat have a slight edge. I do hope that the way raja is straining himself, he's able to maintain his voice till the end...
