Kishore used to impart that "extra" to a song situation, whichever movie he acted in. Lata once said that she would sing with great difficulty when Kishore was around, because he always made her laugh so much.

Yes, you are right about this. The feeling of loneliness in a crowd was conveyed magnificiently. Full marks to Farhan Akhtar!

Has anyone seen the picturization of "Dil Dhoondta hai phir wohi fursat ke raat din" from Mausam?

I have never seen a more poignant depiction of an old man remembering his past. I love the way a white-haired Sanjeev Kumar walks past his "younger self" singing around trees with Sharmila Tagore and looks with utter longing at them. A seamless intermingling of past and present. Don't we all feel this when we visit long-forgotten places? Gulzar was really sensitive.

It would be nice to hear your description of the song and why you liked it. 😊 It would make others interested enough to get the video and watch it.

Basically this song comes at the climax of a movie where the husband, is really jealous of his wife's success as a singer (more than his success as a singer), and causes them to separate. This song shows how the husband swallows his pride and reunites with his wife. Brings tears to my eyes.

Loved the picturisation to 'Zindagi kaisi yeh paheli haye' from 'Anand' - Salil Chowdhury and Manna Dey at their best.. and Rajesh Khanna does a brilliant job in carrying the song along the sea-shore and reflecting the true philosophies of the song.. In fact, I think that Anand is the best movie of Rajesh Khanna, and perhaps only he could carry it so well..

Oh ya..thats a gorgeous song !

I also like 'Musafir hoon Yaaron' from Parichay. Jeetendra in that cart.. and beautiful lyrics...

There is a hush in the atmosphere the moment Guru Dutt stands at the threshold with his hands against the doorframe. It's an electrifying moment, simply unbelievable. And the crescendo is reached when he says "JALAADO ISE PHOONK DAALO YEH DUNIYA, MERE SAAMNE SE HATHADO YE DUNIYA".

It's difficult to get over this song and the way it is picturized.

too good. Mohm. rafi has put jaan in this song

Also love the picturization of "hai apna dil to awaara, na jaane kis pe aayega" from Solwa Saal. It's a unique song situation with a oh-so-young Waheeda eloping with her boyfriend, unaware that he is going to ditch her at the end of the journey. Dev Anand and his stooge are in the same train and appear to know what's happening. He sings this song while the stooge plays the harmonica while Waheeda and her boyfriend get completely hassled. 😛

Its so lovely to relive all those songs by reading all of your posts...such great songs with equally great picturisations. Thanks all of you !

Another wonderful number that I recollect is one from Tere Ghar Ke Samne again..this is the climax song..."Sun Le Tu Dil Ki Sada..how both Om Prakash and Chattopadhyay realise that they were being very childish by putting their petty differences above the happiness of their children - Dev & Nutan. The lyrics were so very apt and thought provoking !
