I must respectfully disagree. I just personally find that sort of comment generally distasteful and I feel like you did not really address my earlier points about the limitations that the original playback singer may have had due to the use of the song in a particular film. When I see singers live or in live performances, I often enjoy those versions better than the original since a live performance sometimes allows for different variations. Why not just say, I liked your interpretation of the song better? I just really abhor the insulting of the original singer who again is part of the reason a song is a hit in the first place. As for the other stuff you said, I feel a little creeped out by it but I think I just might have a different perspective than you on the value of modesty. I don't think that any singer should undersell themselves but a nice attitude is always appreciated. I think of my favorite Sonu as the shining example.
