Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is turning into one of the most talked about box office stories of the year. Led by Ranveer Singh, the period spy thriller has not only crossed Rs 300 crore domestically but has also shown remarkable growth deep into its theatrical run.
What makes the film’s performance stand out is its trajectory. Despite mixed reactions on release day, Dhurandhar has built momentum steadily, converting uncertainty into sustained footfalls. After ten days in cinemas, the film now stands at Rs 351.75 crore net in India.
A sharp surge on the second weekend
The second weekend proved to be a game changer. On Saturday, which marked day 9, Dhurandhar collected Rs 53 crore, its highest single day figure so far. This was a massive 61 percent jump from Friday day 8, when the film earned Rs 32.50 crore. The growth surprised trade analysts and exhibitors alike.
The surge did not come out of nowhere. Thursday day 7 had already shown signs of stability with Rs 27 crore, a figure that matched the collections on Wednesday day 6 and Tuesday day 5. Instead of sliding further, the film held its ground before accelerating once the weekend arrived.
Consistent weekdays built the base

Looking back at the first week, Dhurandhar showed controlled drops rather than sharp declines. Monday day 4 brought in Rs 23.35 crore, the film’s lowest daily figure so far. While this was a fall from Sunday day 3’s Rs 43 crore, the recovery that followed was crucial.
Saturday day 2 had earned Rs 32 crore, which was higher than the opening day figure of Rs 28 crore on Friday December 5. This upward movement continued into the first weekend and later translated into stable weekday numbers. That consistency played a key role in setting up the explosive second weekend.
Records tumble as numbers climb
Sunday of the second weekend pushed the film into record territory. Dhurandhar earned Rs 58 crore on day 10, surpassing the previous second Sunday benchmark held by Pushpa 2, which had collected Rs 54 crore net in India on its second Sunday.
With Rs 53 crore on second Saturday and Rs 58 crore on second Sunday, the total second weekend collection stood at Rs 111 crore. This is now the highest second weekend ever recorded for a Hindi film. The film has also registered the biggest second Sunday for a Hindi release, underlining the scale of its run.
Competition remains limited for now

The road ahead appears favourable. While Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday is scheduled to release on December 25 along with Ikkis starring Agastya Nanda, the current buzz around both films remains muted. Ikkis also marks Dharmendra’s final film, adding emotional value but not necessarily box office certainty.
If these releases do not generate strong word of mouth, Dhurandhar is expected to continue its dominance through Christmas and New Year. The absence of a major Hindi release in the first week of January 2026 further strengthens its position until Prabhas’s The Raha Saab arrives.
At its current pace, entry into the Rs 500 crore club looks achievable. The film’s growth pattern, repeat audience behaviour and lack of immediate competition suggest a long theatrical run. For now, Dhurandhar is not just holding screens but owning them, rewriting second week box office expectations in the process.
If the film does manage to stay consistent and has an uninterrupted run ahead, some shockingly big box office numbers getting beat won't be a surprise. As of now, the film does approximately need about 400 crores to even be close to the feat that Pushpa 2 hindi version amassed to become the all-time highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. We can only wait and see.
