yes, i remember Neha herself said sitamma had all these mentioned jewelleries when she left for vanvaas...i had forgotten the names which she said..and now I feel its what u have mentioned..so lets wait n c if they will work on this aspect in the coming episodes coz jewellery i guess holds a prominent place story wise too...

and about mangalsutra i still believe after reading many research articles on it that it was not prevalent in northern part of India in ancient times.

For the sake of the storyline I do hope they show her with a veil and jewelry later on, perhaps once they meet Guha and all.
I have mixed feelings about the mangalsutra. I also read in some places that mangalsutra was not prevalent in ancient times, but Devi Bhagawatham, which is an ancient scripture, says that the three Goddesses, Lakshmi Parvathi and Saraswathi, were never without a mangalsutra. In fact, it's said that looking at the mangal sutra of the divine goddess, whether it be in temples or paintings, will bring auspiciousness for unmarried women.
Since Devi Sita is the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, I tend to believe that she would wear a mangal sutra. It's not really North India or South India, Devi Bhagawatham is prevalent in all of India and it clearly writes that for married women to go around without a mangal sutra is inauspicious.
Sita wearing a mangal sutra may not have been written in the Ramayana itself, but considering the traditional customs of the ancient times, I believe she did wear mangal sutra, because even Lord Shiva tied a mangal sutra around Devi Parvathi and that was during the Satya Yuga, right? Customs would not change in the treta yuga.

@janaki :

i dont know since I havent ready any holy scriptures...only a person who has read these can say that if word by word details of shiva parvati marriage is mentioned in any puranas , for instance..Shiva puts sindoor, shiva ties mangalsutra, shiva and parvati does pheras ...hmmm if u think of it..these much details are highly unlikely ..but as i said before no clue at all..infact this incites me to think abt origin of hindu marriage rituals...it would be interesting to look at ..

but yes when we talk about Ram and Sita ...we have to see which region they belonged to..coz its their human avtaar..and they were bound to follow man made traditions..its tale of ram's journey to search Sita from nothern part to souther part down to lanka ...so its not like since Goddess Lakshmi had mangalsutra ,Sita was wearing it as well...Sita was in her human form following earthly traditions..

Word for word descriptions may not be written, but Devi Bhagawatham does explain the significance of Parvathi's mangal sutra, and the Lalita Sahasranam has a line on the three Devis wearing the mangalsutra tied by the Trimurti. Lord Kameshwara here can apply to Brahma, Vishnu, or Mahadev since all are one.

Kamesha baddha mangalya sutra shobitha kandhara

(She who shines with the sacred thread in her neck tied by Lord Kameshwara)

Although Ram and Sita were born as humans, they did not follow all the rules of society. Remember Shabari. She belonged to an untouchable caste but Shri Ram ate berries bitten by her. They came as humans but they gave humans ideals, many of which were not prevalent back then. Another example is Shri Ram's eka patnivrat vow. One can argue that Ramji should have remarried since that was the custom back then and they were bound to them as humans, but Ramji broke the custom and taught the world of the sacredness of a one man/one woman marriage.
So if Lakshmi Ma wore a mangal sutra as Lalitha Sahasranamam says, I strongly believe that Sita also wore it because she would not do something that was inauspicious. If Devi Bhagawatham wrote about the sacredness of having a mangalsutra for married women, then Sita would have worn one regardless of the customs of society.

thanks janaki for that info..

and yes Lord Ram's avtaar showed the ideals of leading a life..thats why he is called maryada purushottam...

discrimination by caste ,creed- all are man made..and he had to show everyone how shallow are these thoughts...

and i found a book which says mangalsutra during ramayan days means strings of marriage which includes bangles, braclets, armlets for arms, rings for the hands, anklets with tiny bells for legs, toerings for the feet, alta or red dye for palms and the soles. Sita is not allowed to remove any of these even when she is in forest.

so i guess..meaning of mangalsutra has underwent lot of change...

but anyways i hope sita is shown wearing her ornaments.

Yes, she should definitely be shown with ornaments.
Whether the mangalsutra then was the same as it is now, no one knows, but to see Sita Ma without jewels is unacceptable so I hope Zee Tv changes that in next episode. Can you guys suggest it on their wall please?

overall show was wonderful but i m also just feeling something bad in the show.

all the actros are giving their best more than their stamina , they are doing fantastic job but i think cv's are not taking the befit of their potential, they are not using their brilliant acting in right way.

i can't imagine also sitaji without lap on head and also there were many more scenes which is somewhere losing the soul of the show.(my pov)
