Hi Laila,

Great post!

Honestly...4lions hasn't surprised me at all...infact they have successfully carried on with their tradition of NO Redemption at any cost.

I won't even consider his "I am really Sorry "as an apology. There wasn't an ounce of emotion. He had no intention to apologies for the fact that he had been physically barbaric with her without Dilshad's testimony. According to me if a human being doesn't have the decency to acknowledge right from wrong...isn't fit for a civilized society.

Asad as a person has a lot of issues and he is an aggressive man in nature...he farther more has anger management issues. To redeem oneself a person has to first realize that he committed a mistake ...a crime. I don't think Asad is really sorry for the crime he committed...and hence he isn't feeling guilty.

I was disheartened to see Zoya today...IMO...she is suffering from Battered Person Syndrome. In such cases a person believes that the violence was or his or her fault. The person abides by the abuser and feels that it is hers or his responsibility to fix the wrongdoing in someway. Its a combination of post traumatic disorder and many cases depression.Every person reacts to post traumatic disorder in different ways and similarly Zoya did it too...she tends to pretend it behind her smile. It's an extremely painful phase of a woman's life...it either builds or breaks her for ever.

It's unfortunate to see a person going through this pain and I in no way will be able to forgive a person in real life. I know this is a fictional character...but too many bad things are happening in the society and so we just cannot hide behind the fact and comply that it's just fictional entertainment. On the contrary anything resembling to real life incidences is not fiction.

This wasn't even a proper Apology...let alone Redemption. Asad's character cannot be redeemed.

Asad was sorry because he hit her without a reason. Not because hitting someone is wrong.

Can it really get more pathetic than that?

That's a sure sign of physical abuse tendency.

That's what makes this so much worse! and people don't see that, he's not sorry that he slapped her, he's sorry because he was wrong but every one's either disregarding that fact or they don't care because really what they all want is the 'Mitwa' moments.

To damn with Zoya's self-respect, who needs dignity when you have a hot man giving you a nice whack across your face, don't you see how 'passionate' that is? and hello, he give her a bitter coffee - what more do you want the poor guy to do? to actually redeem himself - that is sooo 2000.

I'm telling you Zoya you should stop trying to be nice to him, because it's just too sweet for him - and you do know he hates sweetness.

Dude that was not redemption! whats with the whole 'mein sirf sorry kehnay aaya tha, sympathy lenay nahi!' - that was just ridiculing the very act of 'trying' to gain redemption coupled with a cup of coffee he prepared 'his' way not even her way!

I Just cant believe they are leaving it at that! It's wrong on so many levels!

That's what bothered me so much on top of the so called apology at the end he put her back in her place. Perfect example of "My way or the high way" - typical arrogant and barbaric attitude.

That killed the whole redemption part - the tone of voice was hard...it was like saying, I came to return you pen. Bye.

Well Laila...All I can say : awesome post 👏 👏

Asad has never realized he was wrong, he has always been told that he was wrong and for proper redemption, one should realize first that he/ she is wrong
Also Asad has never learnt from his past mistakes and I don't see it happening now too...Asad will always be Asad !!!!
He is just like Zoya said, a male chauvinist , who wants things to go his way and if it doesn't he becomes aggressive or even abusive.
And Zoya...well no matter how much a person has a soft heart or is easily forgiving, everything has its limit.
All I can say is that Zoya wants to be treated this way...one should command respect from another, it is not some present that will be sent to you in a parcel. And Zoya not only easily forgives and forgets...she inmmediately starts joking as well as if nothing bad happened.
So can we expect Asad to really give her the respect she deserves ????

I wonder if that could even be considered "redemption" he literally mumbled about the slap and most of the focus was on the "you don't deserve a mother" it was almost like the CV's were trying to underplay it. He didn't say anything that could be remotely considered apologetic about the slap. And what's worse Zoya was laughing literally 2 minutes later, like really? It's almost her trying to make him feel better as you also mentioned. What a shame! Was the slap even necessary when all he was gonna give her was his usual apologetic face and then finish it off with his rude words. As you said Qubool Nahi Hai!! And the CV's have readily moved on to the next issue on hand, since from what we have seen this wasn't one to begin with. A bitter cup of coffee and a half baked apology (sincere or not) was NOT enough.

That bothered me a lot. She didn't even bring it up - that was like her accepting it and not thinking it was a big deal - what type of message has that sent to the viewer? How many young girls are not brainwashed again being reinforced that this is acceptable especially if he is hot and sexy like Karan Singh Grover? No, not OK...

No, I don't think so and I am baffled why they felt this was needed. Bad choice...really bad choice.
