Anupam Kher masters Tauba Tauba step, Vicky Kaushal says ‘absolutely amazing Sir’

Anupam Kher surprised fans recently by posting his first-ever dance video on Instagram. The veteran actor, celebrated for his acting versatility, has largely avoided dancing throughout his decades-long career.

Driven to explore new challenges, Kher decided to take dance lessons. He even learned a tricky hook step from Caeser, part of the famous Bosco-Caeser choreographer duo. In his post, Kher revealed his long-standing hesitation with dance despite trying several other skills, writing, “Dancing Alert: I have tried almost everything as an actor (Even learnt swimming at 68) and am still working on my craft! But I have deliberately stayed away from Dancing. Because I can’t dance. What you have seen me doing during my song sequences in films is my attempt to enjoy the situation. But last month I decided to learn dancing.”

He explained that he attended his first dance class last week and then met Caeser at a gym. Initially amused by the actor’s request, Caeser taught him a challenging hook step from Karan Aujla’s popular track Tauba Tauba in just three minutes. Kher shared, “And I did my first-class last week! Then a couple of days back I met the great choreographer #Caeser of #BoscoCaeser duo in a gym! And I told him about my dream. He first laughed and then taught me a difficult hook step just in 3mins. So presenting my first ever dance video. Hasna Nhi! Encourage Karna! Jai Ho! #KuchBhiHoSaktaHo #GreatTeacher”

Vicky Kaushal, who originally performed to the song in Bad Newz, praised Kher for his effort and speed in learning the step. He wrote, “#ActorPrepares ke baad ab #DancePrepares… absolutely killed it Sir!" Kaushal added that while it took him a full day to learn the moves, Kher mastered them in seconds. Sharing the video on his Instagram stories, Kaushal commented, “I took a day to learn what you learnt and aced in 10 secs…absolutely amazing Sir!!!"

Kher’s video quickly went viral, with fans applauding his dedication and courage to try something new. At 77, the actor continues to demonstrate that age is no barrier to learning and experimenting with new skills.
