SS: Anything Goes part 6
All the cops sat in a room as they got their duties for the day. But that day was unlike any other day. That day, the detectives from Department 31 finally made Dev crack. They got a lead on his right hands and they even figured out one of his business centres.
"Always, ALWAYS, go in with precaution. The men who will be guarding the ground of the place are not just regular, every day fellows. They have guns and other weapons. They pretty much idolize Dev so they will do anything to please their master and by doing so, they will take great lengths to eliminate their enemies. That's us," said Angat, the head of the detective team.
Khushi looked at Mohan with anxiousness written in her eyes. A big project like this would always come up now and then and no matter how much they prepared for situations like this, it was still hard to go in it without worry.
Chief moved up and took the lead. "For the sake of looking discreet, I want everyone to wear casual attire but do not forget to wear your bullet vests. The squad team of Department 39 will also be with you so please be aware of that." With his eyes intently boring into the eyes of each cop, he nodded his head once. "Good luck everyone. Be safe."
Everyone went to their lockers to change as they were told. Khushi and Mohan quickly got ready and they went to the underground parking lot to get the undercover car. Khushi looked around and saw no one else. She started jumping on the spot and flailing her arms everywhere.
"What are you doing?!" Mohan asked, staring at her incredulously. Khushi didn't listen to him. She just continued her jumping and flailing. After a full good minute she stopped and rolled her shoulders back. "Much better," she said with a smile.
"What was that?"
"My nerves were taking over my body. You know when you feel like you get tiny little electric shocks in your fingers? That's what was happening to me so I had to shake it off. Literally."
Mohan shook his head in a chastising way then they got in the car, driving it up to the front. Other cars slowly started to drive to the front until there were five in total, making for ten cops.
While they waited for Department 39, Deep got out of his car and stuck his head in Khushi and Mohan's car. "Shit's about to go down." He said with a smirk.
Khushi smiled and pinched his cheek. "You look like you could walk down a fashion ramp."
Deep stepped back a bit to flaunt his straight leg jeans, and an untucked black collar shirt. He pulled his gladiator sunglasses from the back pocket of his jeans and put it on.
"Gotta take down the bad guys with class."
All at once, five black SUV's pulled up and all the squad cops came out from their cars. All the cops from Departments 31 and 39 introduced each other then they finally hit the road. Just as they were leaving, Khushi saw another black SUV follow behind them.

Khushi casually walked past the fabulously grand house that looked more like a mansion than anything else. So this is where he did his business. No wonder no one ever suspected Dev. Even his dirty business was done in big, expensive places!
She continued to walk down the quiet street then she quickly sat into one of the black SUV's. "The front is all clear. No one is there. I can't see anything on the inside. All the curtains are drawn but I think we can go in now."
The female cop who was sitting in the driver's seat nodded her head and took her walkie talkie, passing the message along to everyone else. "39, take the back, and 31 will go in from the front. Have your guns ready and no one try anything funny. Now'GO!"
As if all the bees were let out of their nest, similarly all the cops ran out of their cars at the same time and swiftly made it to the house, encircling it completely.
"Anyone in there, GET OUT!" The leader of the squad team yelled but the cops of 31 didn't wait for a response. They broke down the door and burst in, all dispersing throughout the house.
And surely enough, business was going on even during the day time. Anyone the cops found in the bedrooms, they handcuffed them and took them out. Khushi went into one empty room but had her suspicions. With her gun held up in her raised extended hands, she opened the doors of the closet and there was nothing there except skimpy clothing.
She walked extra quietly towards the en suite bathroom and bolted it open. There was only one other place someone could possibly hide. With one swift motion, she moved the shower curtain aside and surely enough there was a man in his boxers.
He tried to punch her face but she was faster. She held his fist in her hand and twisted it behind his back. He winced in pain. "Feisty! I'll pay extra for you if you want." He said with a disgusting laugh.
"The hell?" Khushi asked with curled lips then shook her head. "Don't ever say that to me again," she said in his ear before she knocked him unconscious with the butt of her gun.
She handcuffed his hands behind him then went back out into the hallway. "Deepak!" She called one of the cops from her team. "There's on in this bathroom," she said pointing to the room. He nodded his head and went in.
She started walking around looking for Mohan. All eight rooms were cleared by now and most of the cops were busy putting the people away in the cars. She went down and looked into both livingrooms and kitchen. No one was to be seen.
She went out and many of the cars were already gone. "Deep!" She called him as he was getting in his car. He looked up at her. "Where's Mohan?"
"He hasn't come out yet!" He called and Khushi's heart started racing. 'What happened to him?' She wondered.
She hurried back inside and made another round on the main floor. She got to a door that she hadn't yet checked. It was a closet room. She opened it and to her horror Mohan was tied up and thrown in the corner while he lay there unconscious.
She took her phone out and called back at the department. "Mohan is down! Send an ambulance!"
Khushi put her phone back in her jeans and tried to drag him out to the kitchen floor. She sprayed water on his face until he woke up. "Mohan! What happened, speak!" She said with her hands shaking severely.
She untied him and he tried to stand up with her help. He started looking around. "Did they get them?"
"Them? Who?"
Mohan raked his fingers through his hair. "Oh my God. Khushi, it's one of them! One of the cops is with them!"
Khushi's mouth dropped open. "What? How?"
"I had one of the bad guys! I was hauling him through the livingroom when someone hit me with something hard."
"How does that mean it's one of the cops?"
"Because Khushi! The person I had didn't have a gun with him and just seconds before I blacked out, I saw a gun next to my head."
"It could have been one of their accomplices!"
"I would know the difference!" Mohan yelled in defense.
Khushi turned to look towards the open entrance when she heard the ambulance sirens. "Go get yourself checked," she said but Mohan shook his head like it was the most ridiculous thing she's ever said.
"We need to find them! I can't just take a leave!"
"Well you were also hit on the head! I'll go talk to others, you HAVE to go to the hospital though." She didn't wait for him to refute. She left the house and made sure to have a word with the paramedic first. "Do not take no for an answer. Take him in."
She got in her car and furiously drove back to the police station. Something wasn't right'

Arnav constantly went back to the message he'd sent Khushi since that morning but she never replied. It's not like he was offended or anything but he doubted she didn't have a single second to write back a 'hello.'
He pondered on whether to send her another message. Would that make him seem too eager? He typed up 'Taking down the criminals?' then thought about it again and erased the unsent message. He would patiently wait for her reply because one thing was for sure'he WAS eager to see her again.

Just wanted to say that from here it's Khushi's quest to find this guy who is dressed as a cop. She may or may not run into serious trouble and Arnav may or may not try to rescue her.
Thanks to the people who still read this silly SS. Your comments always mean a lot. 😃
