TS : Anything Goes Part 1
Khushi stepped into the club in a black, low back cut dress and straightened hair. She had her clutch securely in her hand. She was ready to take down that little bas***d. She spent far too long running after him and always came close to catching him but she always failed.
She flashed her charming smile and flirty eyes at every guy who looked at her while the other girls all sneered at her for having their dates look away from them. Khushi smirked amusingly for an inside joke that was between her and her alone.
She went to the bar and ordered just a coke. She wasn't here to party and get wasted after all, she had came here to get the job done. She looked around the dark room with lights brightening up the entire place. She was surprised of how lavish the place was with all their fancy chairs, booths, and the decoration that made it seem less intimidating than a usual dirty club.
She looked at a man sitting at a booth with a woman sitting across from him. Khushi raised her eyebrows at him and he shook his head no. She took her phone out of her clutch and sent a message. "Mohan, don't get too engrossed in your date. Make sure you keep a watch out. I can't see the main doors from here." Khushi hit the send button and looked back at the man she was looking earlier. Mohan indiscreetly nodded his head at her then shifted in his position so he could do just what she told him.
He was her partner. In what? That will be answered soon.
She turned to take a sip from her drink when from her peripheral vision she saw movement. She looked up and saw an oh so handsome man smirking at her. "Can I sit here?" He asked but he sat anyways.
Khushi raised an eyebrow at him but couldn't get her impish smile off her lips. His looks were distracting. He was dressed in a white-collar shirt with its sleeved rolled to his elbows, a black vest and black pants. That's one thing that attracted her to a man: formal wear. She didn't know what it was, but she just loved to see a man looking pro at all times.
"I've never seen you here before," he said then quickly ordered a drink. Khushi slowly raised her eyes at him. "You're right. Does that mean you come here a lot?"
His chuckle caused goosebumps on her arms. "Naw, I just tried to use a very stupid pick up line."
With the music blaring in the background, she had to crank her head a bit for his next question. "What's your name?"
"What's it to you?" She asked. He showed her that beautiful smirk of his again. "Is it a crime to ask?"
"No, trust me, if it were, I'd be the last person you'd want to try that on."
"Why?" He asked, intrigued by her. Khushi left him wondering with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Well, I'm Arnav," he said and extended his hand. Not wanting to leave him completely dejected, she took his warm and soft hand and shook it.
"Do you mind if I ask what you do?" He leaned in and she noticed that. She straightened her back to create some distance between them. "I'm a teacher." She lied.
"Oh yeah? That's nice. For younger kids or older kids?" He asked, wanting to create an easy going conversation.
"Yep, for young kids." Khushi suddenly looked over his shoulder and eyed Mohan but he shook his head again. She sighed in annoyance and looked back at Arnav. "Sorry?" She asked because it seemed like he was waiting for an answer.
"Forget it," he said a bit shyly and sat up straight in his high chair. Khushi gazed at the side of his face for a moment. She couldn't help but feel a little warm tingly sensation to her heart. She found it cute how he shied away.
"Say it," she said as she put her hand on his shoulder. He looked at her hand then at her face with amusement. He turned and her hand slowly fell down his arm, stroking it at the same time.
"I was just saying, you're a teacher for kids and yet you're in a bar."
"Everyone has two sides to them, Arnav," she was a little surprised by how easily his name rolled off her tongue. Like she had spent years saying it.
"See that's not fair. You can say my name but I don't even know yours." He looked at her with anticipation. Khushi bit the inside of her lip, trying to stop herself from smiling too much. She couldn't help it though. His flirting on top of his ridiculous good-looks was causing her to do so.
"Khushi," she finally said and his eyebrows shot up. "Wow! Beautiful name."
"Also the name of thousands of other girls in this country. It's nothing too special." She said with the wave of her hand.
"But I don't think other girls can stand up to the name as well as you can."
Khushi finally chuckled. She couldn't believe this guy was shamelessly flirting with her. And that's when it hit her. She wasn't supposed to be having fun! She was here for a mission. She internally cursed herself for being distracted.
She looked over at Mohan again and this time he wasn't in his seat. She started to panic. She tried to look for him in the sea of people.
"Are you alright?" Arnav asked as she kept looking away from him.
"I'm just looking for someone." She said and this time got up.
"Oh, so you're expecting someone?" He asked with a hint of disappointment in his tone but Khushi didn't have time to worry about that. Just then, her phone started to vibrate on the table. She quickly took it and saw a message from Mohan. "He's here. He went straight to the dance floor but you need to get to him before he leaves soon."
Khushi took a sigh of relief then turned to Arnav, flashing him a big smile. "Wanna dance?" She asked but didn't give him a chance to reply. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the crowd of other dancing people. Most of which who were shamelessly grinding each other. Khushi felt disgusted but then she reminded herself: don't be distracted!
She was casually dancing but her eyes were everywhere but on Arnav, and he noticed. Feeling stupid that he'd give a girl his time of day, he turned to leave. Khushi got another text from Mohan. "He's sitting in the booth furthest from view. He's with another man so be careful when you approach him."
Khushi looked up and found the space in front of her empty. She frowned at the fact that Arnav left her. She quickly shook the feeling away and started walking towards the booths where the seats and tables were black and the only light was a dark purple.
Catching the view of her target, she sat at a regular table and waited for a waitress to come by. She had to whisper in her ear because of the loud music again. She waitress smiled and nodded her head okay.
Dev was surprised to see the waitress come by with a flute of champagne and placed it in front of him. He looked at her with confusion. She leaned down towards him and whispered in his ear, "The lady over there got it for you. You might want to thank her," the girl said with a giggle before she left.
Dev turned his attention to Khushi who was looking back at him with her flirty smile on her face. He lifted the flute of champagne in a way to thank her. Khushi shrugged her shoulders in a no-big-deal kind of way. He took a good look of her : her long layered hair, her black dress that showed off her milky white and lean legs. He loved the way she carried herself : her back straight as she sat on the chair, showing off the side of her body.
He looked at his friend and whispered something to him before the other man got up and took the girl who was sitting on the other side of Dev. Dev himself made sure to get Khushi's attention before he nodded his head towards her in a way to call her over.
Khushi prepared to go. Her heart was racing and her hands were getting clammy but she knew she could do it. She was the best at her job and that is why they sent her for this one too. In any way, she wouldn't have to worry about anything, her team were all secretly scattered around the club. One was even sitting a few booths away, intently watching their target's every move. With a deep breath, Khushi got up and walked towards the man. 'Here goes,' she thought.

*Yaaron, I am not someone who begs for comments but I do appriciate them. I mean it gets awkward when I see so many views and only three comments. It makes me feel like the story sucks. :( And I'm okay with that but if like it, then please be kind to tell me in which way. 😃 Thanks again!
