Wow ! lovely reading Anita, Anjana, Aparna and all the others.
Yesterday I was a little hesitant about being able to tolerate this epi and so I saw it on fast forward and in mute in other scenes and even then it seemed nauseating.
I agree - the reason we have been with this show for 4 years is bcoz the characters are so very true to life. Agreed there are scum like J who will stoop to every dirty trick in the book and are not above using kids - any kids, even their own in playing a low-blow emotional game.
What upset me yesterday was not DS, she was and has always been very protective of her family. When Basant was going astray, even then, DS had stood fast by him, Her love for the family transcends all their wrongs if she thinks they are in any danger and currently need help. She is fiercely clannish and protective and doesn't confuse what she sees as "duty" with that person's past behavior.
Currently what she is doing with Jagya is not at all different from when she had brought home Basant's dad from jail. Even then, she was alone, her entire family opposed her stance, but DS thought family comes first. It is a very difficult to emulate but very admirable ideal of hers.
Coming to Anandi - If she sees this as repayment to Singhs or as repayment to Jagya's for his social service - fine. But she shud have thought about it a little more deeply before agreeing. What if Shiv was not just engaged? What if they had already been married? Wud she have expected Shiv to be equally understanding and still gone to do "her duty" ?
This is just OTT drama - any family wud have pretended A has gone to Bilaria and is on her way back. Any Anandi wud never in real life have been expected to care for an ex - and touching and holding and getting all cosy. A can have as remote an expression as she chooses on her face - but right now - she is wrong. I don't agree with her "HAQ" as a Sarpanch and as a beti notwithstanding.
