Kareena Kapoor: 'If Angelina Jolie can do big film

Kareena Kapoor has attacked critics who say that her performance contributes little to the success of the films she works on.

In spite of acting in Bodyguard and Ra.One - two of the biggest hits of 2011 - the actress has been criticised for choosing to act solely in commercial cinema.

"If I wasn't doing these big films, then what am I supposed to do?" Kapoor questioned Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik.

"Angelina Jolie also acts in the biggest films in Hollywood because she is the biggest star. If you are offered a film like Ra.One, Agent Vinod, Bodyguard or Talaash it's obvious that some people feel, 'Why has it all gone to her?'"

Kapoor said that many of her earlier film projects involved collaborating with first-time filmmakers and in more experimental roles.

"My route to success started way back with Jab We Met. I mean Imtiaz (Ali) was a new director. I took up a film that nobody would have done, or Chameli for that matter," she explained.

"I don't think anyone would take up a film like that so early in their career. Now, I am just enjoying where I am."

She went on to add: "Obviously it's people who are feeling that there is too much happening but I think it's okay. There has to be a downside to the success."

Kapoor will be seen next in Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, which releases February 10.

success..blah blah blah...success...blah blah...man could she be more power hungry??? and people ask me why I don't like her! can someone tell the pea brain that it is not about 'big films, small films' it is about having an actual role! I do not see Angelina Jolie playing a girlfriend or a wife who has like a 20 minute role, she actually contributes to the frikin movie! the likes of Sridevi got awards because of their mainstream roles! and puhlease..Kareena only had to do a Chameli because she was completely at the bottom...also at that time she proudly said 'atleast I am not some barbie doll prancing around in a big movie' and now her statement has completely changed! what a HYPOCRITE!

Is Kareena the next sonam in making with her stupid and hypocritical quotes 😆

So Kareena has replaced Meryl streep with Anjelina Jolie for now. Lets see how long this example lasts. 😆

I have a feeling she uses the hollywood movies/actors as an example coz she wants to sound intelligent, which dosent happen often anywayz...😆
