Part 24

After he went upstairs, he could smile , finally , finally he knew the reason , he wanted to hold her right that moment, if only she was not that far. He called her again. She was waiting for his call, to ask what that was all about , before she could say anything he said 'arohi just listen to me okay' 'if I tell you something now will you believe it? I want you to say yes or no at the end. I know you will believe me because is that not what love is, to trust in each other?' he went on 'I will say this just once and you leave all your fears and answer' he continued 'arohi , whatever happens in our life we are going to face it together, we are not going to give up on each other, we are there to take care of each other. now I want you to answer to this' and he said what he wanted to say 'Trust me Arohi, I am with you, forever, in everything, now tell me do you trust me?' he paused for her answer , she did not know how she got her voice out when she managed to whisper 'yes'.

'is that a yes or no, I cant make out' 'yes' 'yes?' 'yes' 'yes?, yess, yesss, I did it' he said loudly making her laugh, he too laughed and she laughed some more, 'I love you' he said again 'me too' arohi said as sweetly as she had said the first time. 'I wont take it' he said , his voice had ncow changed from a onvincing gentle firm voice to a naughty demanding one 'you wont?' 'you cant keep saying me too after me, you have to say it exactly like I say' she strangely found it hard to say I love you while it was so easy and felt right to just say me too. 'allright , I will make you say when I get there, I am getting used to making you say and do things' he said with a wink eventhough she was not able to see. 'when are you coming?' she asked. 'day after tomorrow, Friday morning I will be there' 'so far' she said sadly, 'I know, one whole day' even he felt that genuine sadness, a complete day without being able to see her , 'I have a conference to attend tomorrow, dad was going to but I wanted to come here to find out something and I did, now I will finish the remaining work here, and come back to you and there is no parting after that' he said laying down on his back, 'okay' 'you know our spinning mills is ready to be run. Yours & mine. your dad's and my dad's hardwork, it will all be fruitful again, and we will all make sure it matches up to what your dad had expected, by the way did I ever say thanks for letting us run it'. she had tears when she heard him include her dad's name in this success again, it was her dad's dream to run it successfully, provide employment to many people in her town, unfortunately it had to end and now again it is open, the dream is again alive, what her father wanted it to be, arjun and his dad will do, and now again she is also part of it, a part of arjun's success. 'arohi' 'yeah' she said again in a whisper 'hmmm what do I do I want to come and be with you now ... do some magic and make tomorrow go away' he said like a little boy, she laughed sweetly , he too laughed 'I will come directly to the function , you be there on time allright, we will meet as soon as I come, I don't want to wait. And also there is a party at my place same evening be there you are both guest and host' 'I am coming to the inauguration. but party at your place?' 'yeah for family and friends' 'I don't know arjun' 'nothing doing, you are coming and that is final, okay I will let you sleep now , good night, have sweet dreams of only me' 'good night' 'love you' 'me too' 'wait' he said before hanging up , and she heard the sound of a kiss , making her blush 'now you can sleep' he said hanging up.

She was smiling for a long time holding the phone. Slowly as she realised how he made her say yes, she was overwhelmed. What could have happened there, does he know what payal and simran said to her, she hoped he did not it will too bad if he did, but she also had the fears and concerns which were still not wiped off. He has no idea about all this then she has to tell him first. This call gave her the confidence that she can talk about this with him when he comes back, about guddi, about her, about them. But a party in his house? what about his family, daadi and raashi know , but his parents, they were the main people who must agree. And she had to tell bua about all this. Guddi too, how will she accept a new person in their lives, it all looks so rosy and dreamy to think of will it be the same to live it too. She had complete trust in Arjun and his love. She was sure she will love him the same way, she could feel it. All the pain and gloominess had been taken off just by this one assurance from him. She can be more confident once she talks to him face to face.

Arjun was equally happy, content and at peace. He did not want to stop talking but he did realise she has to catch a good night's sleep so she can give her best at school like always. Next day he got busy with the conference, once at work he was focussed at it, that too after knowing arohi is with him now, he had no reason to be distracted.

Bua and her had already received invitations for the inauguration and next day were personally invited by Daadi for the party. Daadi was very affectionate, 'you should be present at a family party' she couldnot say no to her. Arjun called once he reached home. She did not want to raise the topic of her fears over phone. He had told her he will be starting very early next morning and will be there by 11 and she has to be there when he comes. His sweet nothings continued for some more time, and he said good night the same way like before , with a kiss, giving her more sweet dreams.

She thought she and guddi will take time in between , attend the funciton and then be back to school. And in the evening she can go with bua and family to their house. Thinking of the party she got nervous again, what if their friends that is mittals are also there, she cannot bear to be in the same room with payal mittal again.

On Friday morning Arjun called her to say he was on his way already and will be at the site in an hour. She was supposed to be there at 11 am aswell. But looked like not everything was going to happen as planned. It was one of the students', he had been sick lately and had taken days off and now he had returned after being treated. But he was still vulnerable and all of sudden he had a seizure. Arohi who was about to leave, forgot everything, she quickly called his parents and the hospital , and by the time that boy's parents came he was in the school van and she accompanied them to the hospital, not realising she had left her phone back. When he was taken inside, she sat down still worried for him. His parents sat there with distraught looks, 'just hope he is fine' his mother cried on her husband's shoulder. Arohi placed a consoling hand on her. 'thank you arohi, we cannot thank you enough for all that you do' she cried holding arohi's hand. 'he is as much to me as much as he is to you, I am sure he will be allright' '12 years, 12 years have gone by and not a single day has passed without me worrying about him , I can hardly sleep, and now this new illness, I cannot see him in pain' 'he will be allright, he is very joyful kid in the school, this will pass, he will be back to being healthy again, he will play with his friends, why don't you come with him to school for a few days and watch him and may be with you there he will feel better soon' arohi suggested 'I can do that? Oh thank you arohi' 'ofcourse you can , I say this to all parents even if there is no reason you can always come and be with ur kid and watch them at school' she reassured. By then the doctor came out saying all was well, the kid needed more rest and more medicines and he will be fit to run and play after a week. Everyone was thankful to the doctor and to god.

5 minutes after that she realised what had happened. She missed the function, arjun had repeatedly told her to be there and that he wanted to see her first when he comes there. It was too late now. Even if she goes now she can meet him. After reaching the school She called bua first 'yeah the puja and inauguration is over, they have started the machines , and singhania's are all busy with it now showing their friends and looks like some business people. Arohi beta you know I felt your dad was there , you should have seen this, you would feel proud at the noise the machines are making , it is all lively again.' She paused and continued 'I called you, and also your school, they told what happened' 'I did not bring my phone in the hurry, bua was arjun there?' 'yes he was , he was with his dad and he is still there along with all those people, accha I am going home now, we will talk when you get back'. She called arjun next. She thought his voice was grim, 'I came to know arohi, sanchit told me, is everything okay now?' 'yeah, I am sorry' 'it is okay, be at the party soon okay, now I need to be with my dad, is it allright? I will talk to you in the evening' he sounded very normal and he did not seem to be angry as she had thought earlier.

She had missed it, missed a very important event in their lives. But she was of some comfort to a mother. As she remembered the lady's cries at the hospital she got more nervous. She was not like this before she fell in love with arjun. She was more confident and took these things as a challenge. She felt motivated and confident. But now she had this constant fear, a nervousnesss and she felt better only when she was talking to arjun, that is because he took her mind off of all her fears. When she came home with guddi, she took few minutes to relax. This was important and like in the morning she cannot let it go off her hands. She has to make it up to him. She has to show her love to him the way he is showing. She got up to get ready.

She took the blue dress , it was beautiful, if she were to chose she would have never picked this up seeing so much work on it, but now that it is in her hands it looked gorgeous. It was after all arjun's choice. The mirrors made reflections on everything in the room as she moved around. She selected just plain gold chain and drops for the ears, she applied a light coating of lip color and combed her hair until it felt soft and silky, she let them loose. She did not keep much makeup with her to apply a blush or eyeshadow etc. She wore a couple of slim gold bangles to match the chain and the earrings. She took one final look in the mirror. The royal blue against her fair skin made her look like a fairy tale princess. The short sleeves made her slender arms look more longer. She imagined how arjun might look at her and then she did not need any artificial blush, and her eyes shone so brightly with a hint of shyness that no eye makeup would have been able to make them look more beautiful.
