Misconception about Punjabi-Ekta Land

Finally some one mentioned this! It annoys me too! Its so sterotypical. Like yes I know us Punjabis are proud and warm people but they don't need to over do it. We don't talk like those people in the show. they do this in movies too. like I don't get what draws everyone.

but your lassi comment made me laugh the most!

Can somebody tell Ekta'ji' that Punjabi's are loud but "not" rude. And for god sake Amritsar is not a village, most of the people in that city are well educated.

The way they talk, its not how people talk in Punjab/Amritsar.

And the most annoying is trying to force religious wording as background score for partying.

"Jo Bole So Nihaal" is not a song. Please have a check on what you use.

And Punjabi's dont go ask for Lassi wherever they go.

I know I might be getting bit personal here, maybe coz of my background.

But it just puts me off .

we speak punjabi in punjab..& dat accent iz sooo fake..

& JO BOLE SO NIHAAL iz dere every tyme itz RAMz house...itz used for religious purposes not for parties

& lassi thing iz wayyy 2 old now

ekta should go & visit punjab..she rlli needz 2 learn about punjabiz...

m rlli tired of bollywood or TV showin d wrong punjabiz 2 d wrld...

dey think dere movie or show iz gna b a hit if itz about punjabiz

Wow is that what happened today. Thanks for the info I will skip the epi. I mean I thought Ekta had been planning this show for the past 2 years but the script seems to be planned just yesterday. 😆 I guess that is what ekta thinks about punjabis. Come on ekta use your brain if you are too busy send one of the members of your creative team to do some research on Punjabis. 😛

Not only Ekta but lot of TV shows do stereotype different communities...all Marathis are either maids /bai's or live in chawl , not much educated ...speak in a way that only a small group of maharashtrains speak.

The epis are a PAIN these days...ughhh...the background music is sooo OTT...are they actually playing a lion's GROWL as the daadi's bg music?? Eeeks!

And yes, the stereotypes are PAINFUL...I can't ever recall if a Punjabi family was shown in a non-OTT fashion on TV or in movies...apparently all us Punjabis do is shout "aaho ji" and be "loud" in every fashion possible...oh and ofcourse, ukhaado handpumps in our spare time🤔

I hate lassi, but wait a min I am Punjabi na? how can i hate it?😆
oh the stereotypes...they exist everywhere though sometimes they can be funny 😆
