Part 9

Geet was already in office; her swelled up eyes and pale face was telling the story of the previous day. She was having no expression on face. It looked she is tired of crying and now nothing was left to mull over. She didn't know why Maan's anger was affecting her so much! She hated the previous day. It was the worst day in her life. Every thing was one by one coming to her mind. But the thing which was causing the real pain was Maan's anger!

Yes it was all that mattered to her and nothing else, not even the humiliation she went through the day before. She was in great turmoil when Sasha entered her cabin with Noida project file.

Sasha: Geet ye file ke imp. points maine mark kr diye hain tum bas inhe ek saath list kr do aur MK ke cabin mein rakh dena.

(while going back Sasha noticed Geet's pale face and swelled up eyes.)

Geet..Geet.. ( she shrugged her by shoulderto get her attention.)

Geet(immediately snaps out of the trace): ji ma'am.

Sasha: tum theek ho na? ye kya haal bana rakha hai?

(she asked as she touched her cheek softly with concern)

Geet: nahi Sasha ma'am

Aisa kuch nahi hai. Mai theek hoon.

(she gave a forced fake smile )

Sasha: mai dekh sakti hoon ke tum saaf saaf jhooth bol rahi ho! Kya hua Geet? MK ne kuch kaha kya?

Geet: nahi ma'am vo kya kahenge.

(she said as she dropped down her face trying to hide tears.)

Sasha: geet tum mujhse share kr sakti ho. Tum kaho to mai MK se baat karungi.

Geet: nahi ma'am unse kuch mat kahiyega. Vo vaise hi mujhse naraz hain.

Sasha: MK tum se naraz hai? Kyo kya hua?( she asked confused)

Geet(she told her everything-what happened the day befoe in party and also there convo in outhouse)

Sasha (started laughing while geet looked at her all confused)

Geet! Tum itni si baat pe itni pareshaan ho! Arre MK to gussa krte hi hain. Hum se poocho..(sasha looked at her and thn controlled her laugh)

Geet tum pareshaan mat ho. Vo tumse zada der tak naraz nahi reh payenge. Tum ho hi itni pyaari.

Geet(she blushed slightly to what sasha said) aur agar rahe to?

Sasha: umm to' to mana lena!( she winked at geet and left the cabin.)

While geet stood there all confused!

Geet(to herself) mana loon par kaise? Maan ko manana itna aasaan hai kya? Aur vaise bhi manane ke liye pata bhi to hona chahiye ke gussa kis baat par hain.. aur yahan mujhe kuch pata bhi nahi. Babaji aapne mujhe kaha phasa diya.. abb mai kya karu. Ek to ye mujhse naraz hai aur upar se mujhe pata bhi nahi ke kyu. Babaji humesha mere saath hi aisa kyu hota hai?.. madad kijiye na.

On other hand Maan came to office and straight away headed towards his cabin. He had pretty busy schedule that day. Well not that his schedule contained events like imp. Client meetings and all but it was something more imp that meant a lot in his life at personal front and that was to seek Geet's forgiveness. He knew that he overreacted the day before' it ws his anger on himself which he let out on Geet.. he knew he shouldn't hav done it but he did. And now he had to mend it.

For sometime Maan tried to work. But he was not able to concentrate. He was well aware of everything he knew that he will not b able to concentrate until he seeks Geet's forgiveness. He knew it was easy because he very well knew that Geet was very simple but he wanted to show her that he was really sorry and also that he really cared for her.

It wasn't that he was guilty of being angry on her but the second thing which he really wanted her to know was that he really loved her not only cared!.. he has hidden such feelings deep inside his heart and now because of her these feelings again had taken shape and were wanting to come out and take him to another world of love and care.

He looked through the glass partition into Geet's cabin. She was sitting there and working peacefully on computer. She was engrossed in her work. He was delighted to see her so much into the work. He loved the way she tugged her hair strand behind her ear while writing. She didn't even know that some one was admiring all her small moves!

After some time she felt someone's gaze upon her she looked up instantly and suddenly caught Maan looking at her. Maan didn't move his gaze nor she. They stared at each other for quite some time. They looked into each others eyes like they were talking to each other in language of eyes, like they don't need words to make each other understand what they really want to tell one and other. Like they were trying to unfold the secrets which both of them are trying to hide. They knew they have started to understand each others language of eyes.

Suddenly without breaking the eye lock Maan slowly headed towards the Geet's cabin; Geet stood up. She didn't know why he came by him self coz he always used to call her and today it was the first time when he actually walked to someone's cabin.

Neither of them spoke for sometime. Both stood facing each other without uttering a word.. it seemed like they r talking in language of eyes. There eyes expressed deep feelings of love, care, belonging, and respect. They knew what they felt for each other but they didn't know that thoughts were the same on either side!

After a while Geet spoke," sir aap, yahan? Umm kuch kaam tha to mujhe bula lete." Breaking the silence not sure of Maan's temper.

"nahi , vo mai' actually umm'Geet I m sorry for yesterday. Kal maine overreact kiya. I shouldn't have done that' I know ke tum bohot hurt hui hogi. Pata nahi kal mujhe kya hogaya tha. Sachh kahun to I was angry on my self for not taking your proper care. Varnakal jo sab hua vo nahi hota. Kal maine hi tumhe party mein chalne ko kaha aur mai hi tumhara khayal nahi rakh paya. M really sorry Geet mujhe maaf kar do. Naraz to tumhe hona chahiye tha .. aur mai hi'" Maan's words trailed as Geet cut him.

"aap aisa mat sochiye.. mai naraz nhi hoon." Geet said as she kept her hand on Maan's hand trying to assure him.

"Janta tha ke tum mujhse naraz nahi hogi par galti to galti hoti hai na Geet.. agar kal mai time par nahi aata to.." he stopped didn't want to say that disgusting things of what might hav happened.

"par mai theek hoon.. aapki vajah se' galti to meri bhi thi mai hi party se bahar garden mein chali gayi thi.. vo bhi aapko bina bataye.." she said trying to ease him by taking a part of wrong on her self.

"geet .. mujhe ek baat samajh nahi aayi tum kal party se chali kyo gayi thi?.." he asked confused.

"Maan vo mai' vo' haan mujhe ghutan si ho rahi thi.. isiliye maine socha ke kyo na thodi der bahar tehal loon." She said trying to avoid his question..

He looked at her. He was least convinced by her excuse but did not want her to remember all the day before incidents. So he acted convinced.

"umm ok theek hai tum apna kaam karo vaise bhi kafi der ho gayi hai.. 15 min mein meri ek client ke saath meeting hai.." he didn't know why he was telling her all that.. but he was doing it so unintentionally that he himself didn't realize what he was speaking.

He then went back to his cabin. He felt like everything is solved. Like his all the worries are now ended. He felt satisfied having said sorry to Geet. He was happy that now everything is sorted out. But he knew that this is not enough. He immediately picked up his cell and dialed some no. and then aftr nearly 15min the call ended. he smiled contently and said to him self" Geet now I think I'll makeup for yesterday's night and for ur tears!"saying this he went up to conference room where his clients were already waiting for him.

On other hand, Geet was happy that Maan was not angry on her. She felt contented feeling how much he cared for her. She always wanted her life partner to be caring one. But didn't knew that such man really exists.. she was really happy but scared too because till know Maan had not given her word that he likes her or not.. or he'll marry her or not. And then her thoughts went back to party and then to "Shivani". It was only a day and she didn't even had talk with shivi and she had started hating her. And WHY?.. just becoz she was good friend of Maan and was really close to him.

She really needed to get answers.. and that too not from any other source but Maan him self. But the one thing she really wanted to know was his feelings about herself.. and also about shivi. She was in great turmoil when her phone rang.

"hello Khurana constructions" geet said.

"umm yeah.. can I speak to Maan?"

"I am sorry he is in meeting. Whom I should say is calling?" geet said

"Shivani. Just tell him that Shivani called. He'll understand"

"Shivani'." Geet said all surprised and annoyed at the same time! "ok I'll inform him about ur call" she said and thumped the receiver down in anger.

Geet didn't like Shivani but she had to tell Maan about her call after all she is his best buddy.

It was 12 noon and maan was still in the conference room. Geet finished all her work and piled up other files to be completed aftr lunch. She went out to sasha's cabin to get some company for lunch.

(Sasha's cabin)

"arre geet aao.. " shasha said as she heard her knocking." Geet tumhe knock karne ki zaroorat nahi hai' aao baitho na.."

"ji" geet said as she sat looking down at sasha who was engrossed in some files that were scattered on her desk which were making it look messy.

"kya hua geet?... abhi bhi pareshaan ho?..MK sir se baat hui..?.. ab bhi naraz hai kya tumse??" sasha asked as she looked at Geet's sad and angry face.

" nahi aisi koi baat nhi hai.. unse to baat ho gayi' vo naraz nhi hain." Geet said while fuddling with her duppatta.

"to phir itni pareshaan kyo ho? Kya hua.. Batao mujhe..?" sasha enquired.

"nahi ma'am aisi koi baat nahi hai' mai bass yuhi kuch soch rahi thi'" geet said .." ma'am aap lunch nahi karogi kya?" geet asked again to divert the topic.

"umm.. haan geet' vo actually MK ne aaj hi ye project file complete krne ko kaha hai' bas ek min.. bass ho hi gaya.." Sasha said while looking in to the file.

After some time sasha closes the file and goes out to give the file to maan.. aftr 15 min she again enters her cabin where she left geet, and sits beside her. Then they had peaceful lunch. All this while Geet was lost in Maan's thoughts. Sasha now and then used to look at her. She was confused as to why Geet was so quite. The day from when she had known her Geet has been a very cheer full kind of a girl. She never used to sit like this all quite. This was unlike her, but she thought may be she is not right.

After a while Geet went to her cabin and started doing her work. Only one thing was troubling her and that was "what Maan think off her?"

Geet was a simple girl she didn't knew much world.. she was very simple in thoughts. And she was a typical woman when it came to Maan. Yes she was as much acting possessive as she felt she really was for Maan. She didn't want to loose him.. not at any cost but would also sacrifice her love iff she found his happiness is not with her. So she just wanted to know what is in Maan's heart. What feelings he carries for her. Was it love, care or just friendship that he was abiding with? She did not want to force herself on him. But the mere thought of him loving someone else made her shudder in fear. What she would do if he did not love her. If he loved Shivani. How will she live.

But she knew one thing and that was love never wants anything from the one u love but it only gives everything to the one or for the one u love.

She decided that today it self she will ask him abt Shivani. If he says he loved her then she will leave . coz then there will be nothing that will be left to stop her.

Geet feared his answer but it was needed!

Just then adi called her.

"geet'" adi sir called her.

"yes sir" she answered.

"geet bring the Noida project file and ur writing pad to CR. Sir needs it" adi said and rushed back to CR(conference room).

After a while geet reached the CR. She knocked the door and entered.

She went where Maan was sitting and gave the file.

"sir .. u called me?" she asked straight.

Maan looked at her. He was not sure of her tone but it seemed that she was not in her original self . it looked she was tensed over something.

"umm.. yeah I need to dictate something to u.." maan said loking into the file that geet has handed him.

He gave some dictation to geet and now and then seeked glances at her. She didn't seemed to be all right. It seemed like she was tensed over something. But she was acting to be all right. He didn't knew what the matter was but thought he would ask her abt it in evening..
