Plus KHEMI is also so irritating ..instead of understanding that her sisters household will get disturbed & above that ,SHE IS MAANGLIK & thats why everone is worried for HIten..she should have put her foot down not marry him ..so that HIten will not be affcted by any bad omen..instead both Khemi & Hiten are acting LIKE FOOLS..I am terribly irritated....This thing is getting dragged too much..I dont like this at all..! All I can say is HITEN IS A VERY SELF CENTERD PERSON..whose aim is only to hurt his father..and nothing else..
That is your view which many of us here do not share. I would say most characters in the show have shown different digrees of selfishness. DM is selfish too which is why he married Santu in the first place (in to ensure that his business does not suffer. Did he bother about how his children would take it? He tried to stash away his new bride and hoped after he ties the knot, the girl would just be banished into oblivion and he does not have to face the consequences). No wonder Hiten does not miss an opportunity to rub it in to DM. Of course he understands Santu's plight. Was he not one of the first to point it out to his father that he has married a naive girl who is young enough to be his daughter, only for his selfish purposes? Why was he rude to Santo then? Because she was being interfering and preventing him from telling his father the truth about him and Khemi. She was trying to play mother to him which he does not like or care. She was telling him what he has to do which obviously he did not like.
As to falling at his father's feet, Hiten is not the character to fall at anyone's feet if he is not convinced that he is wrong. As far as he is concerned he has done no wrong in loving Khemi or wanting to marry him. He has an ego as big as his father. His father treated Santo so badly so many times. Did we see him apologise directly for all of them when he realised his mistake?
Yes, Hiten is rough in his dealings with people but he is also a guy who has a sensitive heart. He cares a lot for his father and has defended him in the presence of his father's enemies. But this is his life and he does not want anyone (including his father) to interfere with that. Why did he wait for so long? Yes, this was a mistake. He should have confessed his love earlier and not wait for Khemi to confess first but better late than never.
As to this marriage, if Khemi marries Shambu, three lives would be affected. I think 'honour' an take a back seat when so many lives are at stake. Shambu himself is not willing for this alliance, knowing about Khiten.
As to stupidity, Hiten is not the only stupid one in the show. I think all the adults in the show have acted stupidly at some point or other (except may be Champakali).
