Radha Yadav denies Rajpal Yadav’s release, refuses to name celebs who helped

Amid mounting speculation over his legal status, actor Rajpal Yadav remains lodged in Tihar Jail, his wife Radha Yadav has confirmed. The clarification comes after social media buzz suggested that the actor had secured relief in the Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case against him.

Rumours gathered pace after an old video of Rajpal thanking Salman Khan resurfaced online. Many interpreted it as a sign that financial support had led to his release. However, Radha dismissed these claims in a recent interaction with Bombay Times. “As of now, he is not out of Tihar Jail. The bail hearing is scheduled for Monday February 16,” she said, putting an end to the speculation.

Sharing a brief update on his condition, she added, “He is okay, from what I understand.” Radha also acknowledged the emotional support the family has received during this phase. “Our whole family is together at this time. We are grateful for the support and love he is receiving from his fans and the film fraternity,” she said.

There have been reports that actors including Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn stepped in to help clear a portion of the dues. Radha, however, avoided confirming any names. “I can't take any specific names right now, but I would just want to say many people from the industry have stepped in to support. I'm not able to divulge names and figures at this stage,” she stated.

Ending on a hopeful note, she said, “We are hopeful that he will be out soon. That's all I can say now. Once Rajpalji is out, he will be able speak to you and the media and give further clarity on the matter.”

The case traces back to a Rs 5 crore loan taken in 2010 to finance his directorial venture Ata Pata Laapata. After the film underperformed, repayment issues escalated. With interest, the amount reportedly rose to nearly Rs 9 crore. Although Rs 75 lakh has been deposited, a significant sum remains unpaid, leading to his recent surrender.
