Daisy Shah teams up with Shreyas Talpade in Palaash Muchhal directorial

Composer turned filmmaker Palaash Muchhal has resumed work amid continued chatter around his personal life. His upcoming untitled thriller will feature Shreyas Talpade and Daisy Shah in the lead roles. The film is set in Mumbai and is expected to go on floors soon.

The announcement comes months after his split with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana made headlines. The former couple had planned to marry in Sangli in November last year. However, the wedding was abruptly called off, triggering widespread speculation.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed Daisy’s casting on social media. He wrote, “DAISY SHAH JOINS SHREYAS TALPADE IN PALAASH MUCHHAL'S NEXT FILM... On the auspicious occasion of #MahaShivratri, director #PalaashMuchhal has signed #DaisyShah as the female lead opposite #ShreyasTalpade for his upcoming, as-yet-untitled thriller. Set against the backdrop of #Mumbai, the filming is expected to commence shortly.”

Shreyas will reportedly portray a common man in the thriller. The actor is set to headline the project, with Palaash directing. This marks the first film the composer has taken up since his wedding plans with Smriti were cancelled.

At the time, both families had gathered in Sangli for the ceremony scheduled on November 23. On the same day, a statement claimed the wedding was postponed due to Smriti’s father and Palaash being hospitalised. Within days, rumours surfaced online alleging that Palaash had been seen with another woman.

The speculation intensified across social media platforms, with several unverified claims circulating widely. For weeks, neither Palaash nor Smriti addressed the controversy directly. Eventually, they confirmed that the wedding had been called off, without sharing further details.

Now, attention appears to be shifting back to Palaash’s professional commitments. With Daisy Shah coming on board and Shreyas Talpade leading the cast, the yet untitled thriller is positioned as a fresh chapter for the filmmaker. More details about the storyline and production schedule are awaited.
