I am dying to be in my father's shoes," says actor Tusshar Kapoor, adding, "I love the way he carried himself. He did very different films from Priyatama to Parichay. Then there were the South films. He sustained his place in the industry for a long time. I hope I am there for as long a time as he was."
Tusshar, who's riding high on the success of Masti, has Subhash Ghai's Good Boy, Bad Boy, Rohit Shetty's Gol Maal and Satish Kaushik's next flick in his kitty. Speaking about his roles he says, "In Good Boy, Bad Boy I play the role of a good boy. It is all about college students. I have been paired opposite Tanushree Dutta."
When asked about why his career, in spite of having a big banner to his credit, never took off, the actor says, "That is because I've never really clamoured for roles or big banners. When I did Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai I didn't have clarity. I wanted to leave the industry and was not enjoying my work. Too much was happening too fast. Now I have matured as an actor. Earlier if I didn't have a good director I would go haywire. I have become choosy now. I listen to scripts and consult my directors. I can find flaws with my roles too," he says.
Speaking about the criticism he has faced as an actor, he says, "I loved all the criticism. It adds some spice to my image. Masti was a sex comedy and had a lot of double-meaning dialogues. I felt that the jokes were forced so I toned some of them down. Sangeet Sivan was quite receptive to that."
