Mrunal Thakur says she will marry 'when the right person walks into her life' amid Dhanush linkup rumours

Actor Mrunal Thakur has addressed ongoing speculation around her personal life, saying that marriage is part of her future plans, but only on her own terms. Speaking to PTI, she made it clear that she is waiting for the right partner before taking that step.

“Yes, wedding is on the cards and whenever the right day, the right time and the right person walks into my life, I will be the first one to announce it on my social networking sites,” she said. Her statement comes shortly after she dismissed rumours linking her to actor Dhanush.

Mrunal also spoke about how perspectives around marriage have changed. She noted that people today look for emotional compatibility rather than social expectations. “…Like, earlier, people might have had certain reasons to get married, but today, people marry because they want to, and they want to do it with the right person,” she added.

Recently, reports had suggested that Mrunal was secretly dating Dhanush and planning to marry him on February 14. Responding to this during an interview with Galatta Plus, she firmly denied the claims. When asked if she was set to marry soon, she said, “Me? No. I think 14th April is going to be the 1st April…14th Feb is going to be the 1st April. April Fools' Day. Because I don’t know who started…First of all. I’ve been quoted, but I never said anything. And they just said, Mrunal said so. I was like, wow, how beautiful. It’s scary.”

While Mrunal and Dhanush have never confirmed any relationship, speculation began last year after she attended the wrap party of his film Tere Ishk Mein. Later, visuals of her greeting him at the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2 added to the chatter.

On the work front, Mrunal will next be seen in Do Deewane Seher Main opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi. Directed by Ravi Udyawar and backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Zee Studios, the romantic drama is scheduled to release in theatres on February 20.
