Singer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal is currently involved in a legal dispute with actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who has accused Muchhal of financial impropriety. The situation escalated when Mane made public statements concerning Muchhal's previously canceled wedding plans with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. In response, Muchhal filed a defamation case against Mane. Recent developments have brought a measure of relief to Muchhal, as he has been granted interim relief in the matter by the Bombay High Court.
Bombay High Court Restrains Vidnyan Mane in Defamation Case
The Bombay High Court has issued an order in favor of Palash Muchhal in the ongoing defamation case against Vidnyan Mane, as confirmed by Palash's legal representative, Shreyansh R Mithare. The court has also imposed restrictions on Mane, prohibiting him from making further statements that could potentially damage Muchhal's reputation. Mithare views this as a favorable development and has indicated that the next hearing in the case is slated for March 11.
Allegations Against Palash Muchhal: Financial and Personal Claims
Vidnyan Mane has accused Palash Muchhal of financial fraud, alleging that he was cheated out of Rs 40 lakh. Mane also made accusations regarding Muchhal's personal conduct, specifically referencing his relationship with Smriti Mandhana. According to reports from the news agency PTI, Mane filed a complaint with the police in Sangli, Maharashtra. The complaint states that Mane and Muchhal met in December 2023, where Mane expressed interest in co-producing Muchhal's film, "Nazaria." Mane reportedly provided Rs 40 lakh to Muchhal for the film's production by March 2025. However, when the project remained incomplete and Mane requested the return of his investment, he received no response.
Palash Muchhal Responds to Accusations with Legal Action
Vidnyan Mane further alleged that Palash Muchhal was unfaithful to Smriti Mandhana during their wedding celebrations, claiming that Muchhal was confronted by Indian women cricketers. In response to these accusations, Muchhal announced on Instagram his intention to pursue legal action against Mane. He has initiated a ?10 crore defamation case and issued a legal notice "for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character."
