I guess both have different pov and its fine ...better discussion than ghatiya show using women as baby making machine.

One arguing how having is baby is like a forceful stuff for women, hook or by crook everyone getting exploited, be it a normal woman in a stable financial emotional relationship or the woman in abject poverty ready to do anything to survive in world.

Another arguing if a woman wants baby and someone is willing they should be given permission. End of the day it's a joint discussion between couples and if there is no exploitation it's fine

Both are correct to sone extent and imo even if it's family member ready to bear a child isn't that quite sad for the person too? Women get attached so easily u carry a person for 9 months and see the kid growing up with others, it's a sad situation where people does get affected. Like we have seen in many movies or shows surrogates don't want to give up baby and then by law they had to give up. And pretty sure in rishta too we will see something similar both girls fighting over a baby now. A progress from fighting over a man 😂

We can also argue do we need baby after all the complications a couple going through, especially with our 7 billion something population and evidence proving next generation life willl be worse than us - financial emotional resource issues etc. Is it fair to bring a child in this world in such situations. But then that's more likely emotional thing for a couple to have a baby, i don't think anyone thinks so much pros cons to procreate lol

Exactly , even women who do it out of emotion are exploited. The rules and contract agreement remains the same whether its a poor women or an emotionally driven women. It's like jumping into a trap. Just because a women took an emotional decision to become a surrogate doesn't mean she won't suffer later.

I don’t get one thing if a women literally loses rights on her own body and the right to abortion, howcome it can be ETHICAL. Doesn’t matter whose foetus it is , ultimately it's the women's body and she should have every right to take decision including aborting it at any stage.

Irrespective of the financial state of the woman , surrogacy reduces the whole existence of a woman to the rank of a mere vessel. From a sanatan dharma perspective, it's so degrading to see any living sentient being in such an objectified way.

Men abuse women , women abuse other women and then people wonder why women suffer in this world.

It doesn't. My friend had twins through a surrogate who was arranged through an IVF clinic in Mumbai. The same DR. that SRK used for his IVF Surrogate baby. It can be anyone..usually clinics have a list of ladies that they use..it does not need to be a relative

I think it’s legal in many countries but there’s rules regarding it..like many countries don’t allow the surrogate mother to make a profit from it..while a few countries do allow the surrogate mother and the parents to make an agreement regarding a payment. But tbh I personally only know two couples where I live..who did surrogacy. So it’s not common where I live..and I think it’s because its firstly expensive..the ivf procedure etc,. and secondly it may be hard to find someone who,is willing to be a surrogate.

India banned commercial surrogacy to prevent the exploitation of women and protect children's well-being. Under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021, only altruistic surrogacy is allowed for Indian couples struggling with infertility.

Altruistic Surrogacy is when a surrogate mother carries a child without receiving any monetary compensation, except for medical expenses and insurance. Typically, the surrogate is a close relative of the intended parents. This differs from commercial surrogacy, where the surrogate is paid beyond medical costs—something the law aims to prevent due to ethical concerns.

• Many surrogates, often from disadvantaged backgrounds, might be pressured or coerced into the process solely for financial reasons.

• The law ensures they aren't subjected to poor living conditions, financial manipulation, or inadequate medical care.

• The surrogacy process is now more structured to protect everyone involved—surrogates, intended parents, and most importantly, the child.

• Only Indian heterosexual couples who have proven infertility can apply.

• Foreigners, single parents, and same-sex couples are not eligible.

• There are age restrictions: Women: 23-50 years; Men: 26-55 years
